Job Overview:

Thrivecart is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Analyst to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for financial analysis, transaction processing, affiliate payment management, and comprehensive reporting to support data-driven business decisions. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Prepare and distribute weekly KPI reports to management and stakeholders
  • Analyze financial data and trends to identify opportunities and risks
  • Create monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with variance analysis
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Monitor key performance indicators and provide insights on business performance
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reports as requested by management
  • Process and record financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Verify the accuracy of transaction data and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain transaction records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Reconcile accounts and ensure all transactions are properly classified
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Calculate and process affiliate commission payments accurately and on schedule
  • Maintain accurate records of affiliate agreements, commission structures, and payment terms
  • Reconcile affiliate payment data with sales and revenue reports
  • Respond to affiliate payment inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Generate affiliate performance reports and commission statements
  • Collaborate with the affiliate management team to ensure payment accuracy
  • Design, develop, and maintain weekly KPI dashboards and reports
  • Ensure KPI reports are accurate, timely, and delivered to appropriate stakeholders
  • Track performance against targets and highlight areas requiring attention
  • Continuously improve KPI reporting processes and visualization methods
  • Present findings and recommendations based on KPI analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and identify variances
  • Provide analysis and commentary on budget variances to department heads
  • Support strategic planning initiatives with financial modeling and scenario analysis
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
  • Maintain and optimize financial systems, tools, and reporting templates
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy across all financial systems
  • Document financial processes and procedures to maintain operational consistency
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation
  • Maintain proper internal controls and segregation of duties
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring internal control procedures
  • Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and provide insights
  • Support business units with financial analysis for decision-making
  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes
  • Provide backup support for other finance team members as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Accounts Manager or CEO

Required Skills

  • Experience with financial reporting and KPI dashboard creation
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables, macros)
  • Financial modeling and forecasting
  • Data analysis and interpretation
  • Report writing and presentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Experience and Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or CMA (in progress or completed)
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Experience in e-commerce, SaaS, or technology companies
  • Knowledge of affiliate marketing payment structures and commission calculations
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
  • Experience with SQL or other database query languages
  • Understanding of payment processing systems and financial platforms
