Your role
This position offers high visibility and requires extensive contact with all proposal team members, subcontractor and customers in the development of proposals. This includes proposal development for ongoing programs and leading competitive new business pursuits. The ownership of this activity, in collaboration with the other proposal volume stakeholders, is key to winning new business. Activities include planning, leading and performing pricing and cost proposal development in accordance with customer requirements and current government regulations, laws and company policies.
What You Will Do
- Be independently responsible for the development, analysis and completion of the most significant proposals in terms of complexity and company importance.
- Lead/contribute to the development of pricing strategies (this includes understanding customer perspectives, potential future work, affordability initiatives, program financial objectives, risks, and opportunities)
- Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the labour, material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program.
- Utilise company systems and processes including estimating and pricing programs and tools.
- Develop proposal strategies and detailed ‘Request for Estimates’; used to kick off proposals.
- Lead the development of ‘Basis of Estimates’ to include tracking progress, validating and analysing actuals, ensuring consistency across the program, and confirming the estimating approach is sound.
- Prepare and present charts for program/company leadership review of proposal information.
- Assess, develop and implement solutions leading to thorough proposal submissions.
- Interface and coordinate with all levels of management within the program (ensuring alignment on priorities, strategies, expectations and status).
- Perform detailed and complex analysis of inputs to ensure soundness in our estimates.
- Assist in training and supporting team members.
- Provide support for ongoing finance improvement initiatives
Must Have
- Bachelor Degree and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience;
- Experience using Microsoft Office and/or other related tools;
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, ensuring meticulous attention to detail and innovative problem-solving.
- Exceptionally good oral and written communication abilities, facilitating effective interaction with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work autonomously, displaying initiative and accountability in achieving objectives.
