About the role


AGL is seeking an experienced finance analyst to partner with our Corporate function to provide understanding of financial performance to the function and their teams. You will be responsible for supporting this through the provision of value-added reporting, budgeting and forecasting, analysis & insights to support and influence decision making, to drive optimal commercial outcomes for the business
 

This is a full-time, 12 month max-term role, based in Sydney.
 

Key Accountabilities

  • Month End Performance Reporting & Analysis – preparation of monthly management reporting for key stakeholders, including monthly accruals, performance reporting packs, risks & opportunities, opex, capex, cash flow and balance sheet reporting as required. Assist in the preparation of clear, concise and timely analysis, insights and commentary for group, external and business
    management reports.
  • Budgeting, Planning & Forecasting – assist with the co-ordination and delivery of the annual budget, plan, and forecasts by providing support in the preparation of templates, models, reports, and analysis, and partnering effectively with business stakeholders to complete inputs on time and in adequate details. Assist with the preparing of reporting, analysis and insights to help guide and influence the business in decision making.
  • Business Partnering – establish trusted relationships with key stakeholders, develop understanding of the function and key business drivers and leverage these to help identify risks and opportunities. Provide ad-hoc support to key stakeholders as required, particularly in relation to helping them understand their budgets and spend and build financial and commercial literacy.
  • Other and Ad-hoc Responsibilities – support group activities, projects and any other ad-hoc requests with data inputs, data validation or due diligence, and drive continuous process improvement to deliver efficiencies and improvements outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • CA / CPA / ACA qualified
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools (particularly Excel) and Power BI
  • Experience of month-end close and finance planning process
  • Strong analytical and communication and influencing skills
  • Strong ability to manage conflicting priorities and reporting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to interrogate financial systems to produce value-add reporting, analysis and insights
  • A motivated, proactive and professional attitude, high accountability, and ability to work collaboratively with others
