Position Summary:
The incumbent will perform and organize activities to support the daily operations of the Desautels Faculty of Management by ensuring that accounting administration functions are carried out in accordance with established goals and objectives. Administers operating and other funds ensuring adherence to internal and external account policies and procedures, or contract obligations and performs budget and accounting functions and assists with the preparation of budgets as well as financial reports. Responsible for the daily financial administration of operating, self-funded and gifts funds, including Executive and Master Programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Administer Faculty funds, with responsibility for monitoring the cash balances and related activities such as disbursements.

- Verify and approve Expense Reimbursements in Workday. Validate expenditures and verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies' rules and regulations.

- Review financial reports and organize quarterly reconciliation meetings for units and departments.

- Analyze, prepare and review financial reports and statements for all types of funds: operating, self-funded and endowed and direct gifts.

- Oversee and train support staff assisting with accounting functions.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Experience with and strong understanding of University budgetary accounting system. Excellent organizational, analytical, planning, and decision-making skills. Proven ability to problem-solve and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to work in a Microsoft Office environment using Workday, Minerva, Banner FIS, Crystal Reports, word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications. English (spoken and written), French (spoken).
