We have a newly created role for a Finance Administrator to join our Defence division and support with this new contract. You will support the Finance team in managing the financial operations of a state-wide defence contract, covering multiple bases. This role will heavily focus on contract compliance and implementation of processes to manage end to end activities from procure to pay through to converting work order to cash.
This role will be based from our modern head office in Melbourne (next to Southern Cross Station), which offers a vibrant environment featuring a balcony, BBQ area, collaborative and quiet spaces, and plenty of natural light.
About the role
Your key responsibilities will include:
Auditing completed work orders and converting to customer billings.
Assisting operations in processing and creating purchase orders as per requests.
Ensuring contract compliance is adhered to accordance with our policies and procedures.
Liaising with accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Implementing processing to ensure governance and controls are in place to maximise billing of recovery costs.
Supporting the management of financial aspects of contracts, including billing and reconciliation.
Assisting with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
Liaising with various stakeholders, employees, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure effective financial management.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial documentation and records.
About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
At least 3 experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a defence or government contracting environment.
Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, and reporting.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification such as CPA or CFA would be highly desirable.
