Description:
We are seeking a File Clerk to join our team. This entry level position is a perfect stepping stone for someone considering going to law school or pondering if they would be interested in a career surrounding the legal field as a paralegal, legal assistant or other ancillary legal role. With time and experience, this position could potentially lead to a promotion to a higher-level position in one of those areas. You will be exposed to many different types of legal practice, become familiar with various legal documents and the process of legal filings and documentation. You will perform all filing duties as required for busy Commercial Real Estate and Litigation legal practice, learn legal terminology, and gain experience with administrative and organizational tasks for a large National Law Firm.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Using in depth guidelines, name, categorize, organize and file large volumes of electronic documents in Data Management System in a timely manner.
Organize and maintain physical and electronic documents, creating appropriate RFID labels to prepare physical files for off-site storage and retrieval.
Accurately place paper documents in correct folders and file drawers.
Organize, update and maintain files and file system.
Special projects and additional duties as assigned including. without limitation, assisting on the logistics of a real estate closing.
Qualifications:
In lieu of a college degree, 1-3 years’ experience in an administrative field.
Accurate computer typing skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Exceptional attention to detail required.
Ability to lift heavy boxes at a maximum of 70 pounds.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (earned or pending) preferred.
Future potential law students or paralegal students encouraged to apply.
