WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Smart Workspace Field Technician, you will lead and support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of smart workspace solutions, including AV, IoT, and low-voltage systems. This role involves overseeing third-party installers, performing audits and preventative maintenance, resolving technical issues, and ensuring projects meet EOS standards and client requirements. Travel nationally and internationally may be required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and supervise installation projects and rack-building processes
- Provide technical leadership and act as an escalation point for complex issues
- Ensure quality control and compliance with client specifications
- Perform audits, preventative maintenance, and post-installation assessments
- Document and report hardware failures; manage Break/Fix and RMA requests
- Communicate effectively with management and clients throughout projects
- Deliver timely reporting and maintain accurate project documentation
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Experience installing commercial electrical lighting fixtures
- Proven experience leading teams of field technicians, electricians, or engineers
- Ability to terminate, configure, and program at least one of the following: Low Voltage Cabling, High Voltage Electrical, Lighting Controls Solutions
- Ability to read and interpret plans and perform required configurations
- Agile mindset with strong sense of urgency
- Responsive, efficient, excellent customer interaction, and high professionalism
- Comfortable solving complex technical problems
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with independent and confident thinking
- Comfortable working on lifts and ladders
- Engaged in technical development processes
- Eligible, willing, and able to work and travel as required
- Must have a valid passport and willingness to travel internationally
- Responsible and reliable, capable of working independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Flexible and adaptable to changing schedules and requirements

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Experience with AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX, Extron)
- Familiarity with networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, PoE)
- Knowledge of IoT device integration and troubleshooting
- Experience with video conferencing platforms (Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms)
- Understanding of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA)
- Ability to use diagnostic tools for AV and network systems
- Certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), Network+, or equivalent
- Experience working in enterprise environments with strict SLAs
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical schematics and wiring diagrams
