What You Will Contribute:
 

The Field Support & Controls Manager is a hands-on technical leader responsible for overseeing field operations, controls integration projects, cellular connectivity diagnostics, and utility‑site service activities. This role manages a team of field technicians, leads complex controls and system integration work, ensures quality execution of installations and inspections, and serves as the primary escalation point for advanced technical troubleshooting.

Job Duties:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop field technicians performing installations, system troubleshooting, inspections, and utility‑site work at a customer’s site.
  • Conduct field audits, quality checks, and job‑site coaching.
  • Manage resource planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Oversee design, review, and approval of electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Support and ensure control panels are tested and commissioned.
  • Oversee warranty work, site surveys, inspections, firmware updates, and field troubleshooting.
  • Manage installation of sensors, hardware, electrical equipment.
  • Lead field verification of cellular coverage.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in work order systems.
  • Act as primary contact for utility customers.
  • Provide updates and project reports.
  • Ensure professional conduct and appearance.
  • Manage project timelines and field resource allocation.
  • Improve workflow, safety compliance, and documentation.
  • Partner with engineering and product development.
  • Enforce safety rules, PPE, and safe vehicle/equipment operation.
  • Ensure safe work in inclement weather.
  • Conduct incident reviews and safety training.

Education and Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting with 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field experience is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and lead large teams
  • Strong cross functional communication skills
  • Ability to create and maintain resource planning and work execution plans and or schedules
  • Advanced knowledge of PLCs, control systems, electrical integration.
  • Strong proficiency with work order systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work safely in demanding outdoor environments.
  • Strong mentoring and communication skills.
