About the role
Field Services Technician
We are looking for a qualified electrician who has a passion for quality and some great communications skills to help our drive for continuous improvement. Working with a team of exceptional engineers and pre qualified contractors, the Field Services Technician is responsible for undertaking on-site Quality Assurance & HSE monitoring activities such as pre-installation Site Inspections, Quality Auditing, HSE auditing, reactive service calls, Site Supervision, and maintenance inspections across the state.
What you will be doing:
Represent the company with professionalism and integrity, ensuring compliance with all relevant Australian laws, regulations, standards, permits and codes, and acting as the electrical licence holder and/or technical nominee with regulators.
Drive efficient operational processes and continuous improvement by actively maintaining and enhancing the Integrated Management System, incorporating lessons learned from field activities.
Lead and support safe, high‑quality solar installation and maintenance activities, including subcontractor management, quality assurance, HSE oversight, inspections, audits and fault identification.
Undertake on‑site activities such as pre‑sales inspections, tender meetings, routine O&M inspections, incident and outage response, minor warranty or repair works, and supervisory duties on selected projects.
Engage effectively with clients, contractors and internal teams, support the development and implementation of HSE and quality procedures, and travel interstate as required to meet business needs.
Ensure contractor engagement and project activities are conducted in line with AGL’s contractor management framework, completing proactive HSE activities such as field audits and safety observations against agreed targets.
Support strong safety and quality outcomes by assisting with incident and near‑miss investigations, driving timely close‑out of corrective actions, and partnering with the HSE function to deliver continuous improvement initiatives.
What we would like to see you bring:
SAA‑accredited and licensed electrician with proven seasoned experience delivering commercial PV system installations.
Strong technical capability combined with commercial awareness, supporting efficient and high‑quality project delivery.
Contribute to achieving EBIT targets by actively managing costs and driving revenue generation across project delivery activities.
