Field Service Technician

Responsibilities / Tasks

  • Coordinate and/or perform Installation and Commissioning of new separators and decanters sold to customers
  • Provide technical and maintenance support separators and decanters   
  • Travel to Customer Sites to work on Separator & Decanter systems as per the applicable GEA Safe operating procedures and maintenance manuals.
  • Train customers and employees on the equipment for best operating practices and general maintenance.
  • Assist the third party with Project Execution activities.
  • Participate in auditing and monitoring activities of GEA equipment on customers ‘sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance procedures, emergency service as well as warranty work on GEA’s product lines.
  • Collect and classify data using various measuring equipment applicable to the equipment.
  • Test systems and components using electrical, mechanical, digital, and pneumatic controls.
  • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance of equipment as per maintenance schedules, corporate governance, legal requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to other departments in the development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
  • Initiate recommendations for improved tools, procedures, and devices for service operations.
  • Build parts lists for Customers, internal and external.

Your Profile / Qualifications

  • 5 to 7 years experience
  • Professional or Collegian Diploma (Mechanical Engineering Technology, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Millwright or similar)
  • Travel Requirement at least 75% of the job requires travel in the province of Alberta with the possibility of service related visits to other Canadian provinces as and when required.
  • The Candidate must be able to accommodate a flexible working schedule
  • Must have Valid passport and be eligible to work in CA and USA when required.
  • International travel is also a possibility for training and other requirements candidate must be able to travel internationally as well
  • Knowledge of Centrifuge and Decanter systems required/ and advantageous
  • Or candidate must demonstrate skills and knowledge applied in other mechanically Relatable Equipment
  • Process and electrical knowledge and experience is advantageous
  • PLC (Allen Bradley is a plus) / Programming / Control Panel experience is considered advantageous
