Are you an ambitious professional eager to contribute significantly to biotechnology? Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a global leader in scientific solutions, is inviting applications for a Field Service Engineer to work remotely from Madrid.
Position Summary:
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a variety of service activities, mainly passionate about clinical markets with Next Generation Systems (Massive Sequencing). Your tasks will include installation, repairs, maintenance services, and validation services. Your primary goal is to ensure customer happiness, provide timely on-site responses, increase first-time fixed rates, minimize repeated call rates, and contribute to overall service targets. You will follow internal rules, processes, and practices while delivering outstanding service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all service activities in compliance with internal guidelines and customer regulations.
- Provide adaptable telephone support, diagnostics, and on-site services to exceed customer expectations and ensure their success with Thermo Fisher Scientific instruments.
- Actively promote our contract products.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with customers to achieve dedication and promptly resolve any critical issues.
- Manage company assets, including inventory, tools, software, and vehicles.
- Coordinate with relevant partners for service planning and scheduling.
- Accurately and timely report all activities as required.
- Align activities at customer sites with other parts of Thermo Fisher Scientific and share important customer information with relevant teams.
Education:
- Professional background in Electronics, Molecular Biology, Engineering, or related subjects.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-5 years of experience servicing analytical equipment or equivalent applications specialist experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of working effectively across all levels, functions, and regions.
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks, especially in the clinical and medical market.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
- Proficiency in PC skills.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
- Valid driving license.
- Willingness to travel mainly within the appointed region (Comunidad de Madrid, Castilla y Leon, Castilla La Mancha) about 70% of the time. The other 30% involves travel to the rest of Iberia, including the Canary Islands.
- Ability to travel internationally, including all EMEA Territory and the US, for training or special calls.
- Strong command of English, in both spoken and written forms.
