As a Field Service Engineer [Customer Engineer] at Applied Materials, you serve as the direct liaison with customers, collaborating closely to install, maintain, and upgrade equipment. You'll use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess and address technical issues. Your responsibilities include performing preventative and corrective maintenance on various systems such as electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems. Additionally, you'll coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

 

 

We are looking for a Field Service Engineer, who will support our customer and our team in Agrate Brianza (Monza, Italy), guaranteeing the best performance of Applied Material's Equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of equipment performance and supply of spare parts
  • Implement and guarantee all levels of preventative and corrective maintenance within timelines
  • Supporting in Troubleshooting activities and fix technical issues on equipment.  
  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware issues through understanding of software and process data as needed.
  • Performs upgrades and retrofits on equipment.
  • Ensures that the team apply the correct procedures and checklist for maintenance both corrective and preventive
  • Understands and implement correct work methodologies and procedures as per company and customer quality standards.
  • Anticipates and responds to equipment issues and escalations in a timely manner
  • Collaborates and communicates with company stakeholders
  • Participates in internal and customer meetings.
  • Within assigned scope, assist management in operation of site service business.  
  • Assists Applied Materials field management in establishing and achieving objectives for assigned account.
  • Keeps field management informed on customer perception of system performance.  
  • Takes initiative to avoid and resolve customer problems.  
  • May occasionally initiate projects to drive down costs or increase uptime.
  • May work in shift depending on assignment
  • Travel flexibility is required

Computer Skills:

  • minimum capabilities required: Outlook, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • additional capabilities welcomed: advanced software skills, industrial automation, problem solving through software analysis, software coding, Server administration, Computer analyst.

Education:

  • University Degree in Engineering with limited experience or ITS - Post Diploma in Factory Automation/Mechatronics.
