🙌 The Role & Team 

The Sales Manager will be part of the Commercial Senior Leadership Team and will lead, coach, and develop a team of eight field-based Account Managers to deliver dealer acquisition, account growth, and retention strategies. This role focuses on driving commercial performance through strong dealer relationships, effective team leadership, and execution of Oodle’s growth plans in the motor finance market. 

What You'll Do: 

Team Leadership & Coaching 

  • Manage and develop a team of 8 -10 Account Managers, providing regular coaching, feedback and support. 
  • Foster a high-performance culture with clear accountability and collaboration. 
  • Support career development and training needs within the team. 
  • Representing the team internally in company meetings. 

Dealer Acquisition & Relationship Management 

  • Drive acquisition of new dealer partners and strengthen existing relationships to grow our ‘share of wallet’. 
  • Ensure Account Managers understand and deliver Oodle’s value proposition consistently. 
  • Act as escalation point for complex dealer issues, resolving them promptly and professionally. 
  • Collate market feedback into actionable recommendations for developing the Oodle proposition. 

Performance Management 

  • Set and monitor KPIs aligned to sales targets and compliance standards. 
  • Use data and insights to track performance, identify opportunities, and implement improvement plans. 
  • Ensure accurate reporting of pipeline and progress to the Commercial Senior Leadership Team. 

Commercial Delivery 

  • Understand the drivers of account profitability, and actions needed to enhance profitability 
  • Execute regional growth plans to increase market share and finance volumes. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Partner Support, Credit Risk, Product & Engineering, Operations) to optimise dealer experience. 
  • Regular engagement with the Pricing team to review Commission and Pricing Structures. 
  • Maintain compliance with FCA regulations and Consumer Duty principles. 
  • Work closely with our Oversight and Intermediary team on Dealer Behaviour & Fraud. 

Field Presence 

  • Representing Oodle with dealers across the UK. 
  • Spend significant time in the field with Account Managers and dealers. 
  • Role model best practices in relationship management and sales execution. 

Essential:

  • Proven leadership experience managing field-based sales teams to deliver commercial targets in a regulated, customer-focused environment. 
  • Results-oriented mindset, with the ability to identify problems and develop solutions quickly. 
  • Strong coaching and development capability, able to stretch and retain individuals while leveraging diverse skills and strengths. 
  • Commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with a solid understanding of sales processes, techniques, and dealer engagement strategies. 
  • Data-driven decision-making, using insights to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and implement improvement plans. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong relationships with dealers and internal stakeholders. 
  • Resilience and adaptability, demonstrating calmness and confidence under pressure and in uncertain situations. 
  • Knowledge of motor finance products (Hire Purchase and related offerings) and familiarity with FCA principles and Consumer Duty. 
  • High emotional intelligence, managing dealer and team interactions empathetically and professionally.
