Position Summary:  Under broad supervision ensures the financial integrity of premium development. Verifies and determines final billing exposures on Commercial Lines adjustable policies. Ensures that all audits are conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct audits of selected Commercial Lines adjustable policies by reviewing the insured's business operation.  This includes examining, verifying, and recording pertinent classification-related data from financial/business records and interviews. Determines and/or develops classification and premium basis.  Will routinely make classification decisions and changes that may significantly affect premiums.

  • Maintain inventory to keep all audits current.
  • Conduct on-site and virtual audits while meeting quality, timeliness, and productivity goals.
  • Discuss issues and problems with the insured to ensure mutual understanding of any potential change in premium exposures to maintain good customer relations.
  • Ensure high quality audits through proper risk classification and exposure basis information per customer guidelines and Basic Manual rules.
  • Utilize laptop computer, audit software and other audit reference tools to record and transmit audit information in a timely manner.
  • Provide customers (agents, insureds, and carriers) with information to assist in their understanding of audit-related matters, including final audits, procedures, and worksheets.
  • Remain informed of changes and current industry related information through discussion and correspondence with coworkers, peers, industry reference guides and bulletins as well as customer SOPs.
  • Document customer interactions and scheduling due diligence to maintain customer service standards through information sharing.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 3-4 years of experience in accounting, insurance or related experience. Must be able to complete work in a timely manner Must have proficiently in basic computer skills and Excel/spreadsheet skills Strong analytical and interpretive skills Must have good interpersonal skills and be a team player Must be able to work independently

Communication Skills

Conducts all types of communication in a professional manner Effective with making complex technical information and recommendations understandable and clear to audiences with varied levels of technical knowledge Listens effectively Clearly expresses ideas, recommendations, etc. in writing

Customer Service

Responds timely and concisely with all communication Builds credibility with clients Follows customers’ requirements Understands appropriate information to share with customers

Work Environment

Work is performed on-site at customer’s location and in a work from home environment.

Travel

Local travel up to 50-75% of the time and occasional overnight travel is required for this position.

Preferred Licensing

APA, CPCU certifications are helpful
