Field PMC Process Engineer, EXPAT

KBR is looking for a Field PMC Process Engineer to help support an ongoing project in Lobito, Angola. Under broad supervision the Field Engineer ensures that on-site construction activities for pipelines, refineries, terminals, and related facilities meet design specifications, safety standards, and process efficiency goals. This role bridges field execution with process engineering to regulate change management, support construction and commissioning, and maintain compliance with industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all the Company’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel
- Responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures.
- Interpret P&IDs, isometrics, and process flow diagrams to support installation and commissioning.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and craft labor, resolving technical issues on-site. Utilize the support of the home office subject matter experts when needed.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities for process equipment (pumps, compressors, heat exchangers).
- Prepare progress reports, review and respond to RFIs, and maintain as-built documentation.
- Support change management and ensure proper documentation for process modifications.
- Interface with project and engineering managers, home office engineers, and client representatives to resolve technical queries and RFIs.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment installation and troubleshooting during commissioning.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed to ensure efficient collaboration with the EPC contractor
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering.
- 5 years+ in oil and gas construction or EPC projects.
- PE preferred.
- Experience with 3D model coordination
- Proficient in P&ID and isometric interpretation, QA/QC procedures, and process safety standards.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with refinery process design construction.
- Knowledge of ASME codes, API standards, and process safety regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills for multi-disciplinary coordination.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing project challenges.
- Attention to detail and the ability to ensure project documentation is accurate and up to date.
