ROLE SUMMARY
The Field Medical Outcomes Strategy and Execution Lead reports to the Field Medical Outcomes (FMO) Group Lead and serves as a core member of the US Medical Affairs (USMA) Field Medical Outcomes Leadership Team.
ROLE RESPONSBILITIES
Leadership:
Lead for all USMA Field Medical Outcomes strategic and executional processes for all field medical teams.
Serves as a member of USMA Field Medical Outcomes Leadership Team (LT).
When designated by the Group Lead, liaises with the US Field Medical Governance/Compliance Lead and Legal, Compliance and Governance on processes and issues related to the FMO Group.
With the Group Lead, conducts analyses of field medical data across all teams and contributes to report generation for/with the FMO TLs, cross functional stakeholders, and the US Medical Affairs (USMA) Leadership Team.
Advises the development and implementation of technology solutions for USMA Field Medical Outcomes teams.
Leads development of USMA Field Medical Outcomes team Field Medical Activity and Insights Report (including Field Stats and Field Board), encompassing the analysis and synthesis of field medical Insights / Data, Facts, Observations (DFOs) across all therapeutic area activities and leads a team of USMA Field Medical Outcomes in the development of a summary report for dissemination to cross functional stakeholders and the pertinent USMA LT members.
Serves as the professional content interface for Business Technology (BT) for Field Medical related systems and outside vendors to ensure optimal performance, consistent reporting, and efficiency for all Field Medical systems and any new systems or updates as it pertains to USMA Field Medical Outcomes needs.
With the FMO TLs and TALs, is responsible for organizing and executing onboarding and initial and continuous training for new FMO hire including maintaining a FMO Onboarding and ongoing Training Plan for TA content and ensuring relevance and alignment with Medical Affairs strategy and ensures full alignment with other training offered by the Field Medical Excellence Group.
Leads and facilitates USMA Field Medical Outcomes in the execution of key processes and initiatives for the Field Medical Group.
With the FMO TLs and TALs, is responsible for developing and leading both therapeutic area capabilities and customer-facing skills and ensures FMOs continuously improve their customer-facing capabilities.
Leads the Strategic Alignment CQI and is responsible for maintaining strategic and executional alignment between the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Teams and US HQ colleagues.
Coach and mentor USMA Field Medical Outcomes colleagues in team operational project execution, logistics and cross-functional colleague alignment.
Provides insights and feedback to individual FMO TLs and individual FMOs to strengthen FMO capabilities and implementation.
Leads the coordination of PA and PM support for the FMO Group with leadership of the respective platform lines.
Strategy and Business Planning:
As a member of the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Leadership Team (LT), contributes to the development and execution of FM Group’s medical plan that is aligned with the respective US Medical Affairs brand-team plans for in-line and late-stage product strategies and objectives.
Coordinates and drives forward the development of a forward-facing USMA Field Medical Outcomes Strategic Plan.
Ensure that the FMO LT has a clear and consistent medical narrative with regular updates to optimize executional performance by the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Team.
With the FMO LT, ensure that the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Team is aligned on a clear set of field priorities on a regular basis.
Coordinates with leadership for National Account coverage to ensure USMA Field Medical Outcomes readiness to provide deep therapeutic area expertise with MRC-approved materials for priority accounts.
Develop resources such as roadmaps and playbooks to ensure consistent executional approaches across the FM Group at major national and international scientific congresses.
Serve as a key strategic and executional USMA Field Medical Outcomes member of the annual US Op Plan process.
May represent Field Medical Outcomes group on teams across Pfizer US or across business units for Field Medical Governance as requested by the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Group Lead or Portfolio Lead.
Serve on USMA Field Medical Outcomes and/or cross-functional, cross divisional and cross business unit committees as directed by the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Group Lead or Portfolio Lead.
Harmonizes plans and processes across the USMA Field Medical Outcomes organization for simplicity, efficiency, and focus.
Maintains key internal stakeholder relationships as agreed upon with the Group Lead.
Executional Management:
Ensures continuous training and understanding across the FMO Group related to medical governance, legal compliance and other applicable policies.
Provides expertise and leadership for the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (OneMed) for the FMO Group. Serve as or identify “super user(s)” for other relevant systems for Field Medical.
Liaises with Operations Excellence to ensure consistent execution and enhancement recommendations on all software and hardware technology used by the FMOs. Advises the development and implementation of technology solutions for the FMO Group.
Participates in the maintenance of Business Rules for the FMO system (OneMed) and ensuring continued understanding by the FMO Group.
Stays current on FDA and other US regulations and guidance that impact interactions with and delivery of medical information to external healthcare professionals.
Stays current on, anticipates, and adopts new digital technology, on-demand, and other related offerings that improve the efficiency of USMA Field Medical Outcomes medical communications activities and/or enhance the overall medical customer experience.
Keeps updated on scientific and medical literature and developments within the designated therapeutic area.
Stays current on all relevant Pfizer SOPs and FM guidance documents.
Works in concert with the USMA Field Medical Outcomes Group Lead to ensure that communication and collaboration between HQ and field-medical and other medical and commercial functions are effective, appropriate, and compliant, and that the medical professionalism of the USMA Field Medical Outcomes function in the creation and implementation of its objectives and activities is maintained.
Oversees the management of the FMO Group budget.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop, and coach others, oversee, and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Possesses an advanced degree and/or equivalent practical medical experience (PharmD/PHD) – minimum of 7+ years.
Field Medical Experience Required
Previous Field Medical Team Leadership experience required.
Experience working in a matrix organization with the ability to manage without direct authority.
Demonstration of strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to identify alternative scenarios, resulting implications, and development of pragmatic recommendations for direction or action. Ability to analyze, define, and convey complex concepts.
Strong written and verbal communication influencing skills to address leadership as well as internal audiences, strong presentation skills.
Well organized with the ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple demands.
Demonstrated history of high performance and excellence.
Demonstrated success in negotiating the environment of a highly matrix-based organization.
Demonstrated results in creating & managing complex program plans, including experience in budget management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
PharmD, MD or PhD Preferred
Clinical experience and expertise highly desirable; expertise in healthcare systems preferred.
Experience deploying innovative tools and innovative technologies for team and program management.
Ability to network and build partnerships/collaborations with senior leaders, external customers, and organizations.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel up to 40% which includes overnight travel.
Must meet and comply with all Corporate Travel requirements, policies, and procedures as applicable.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $214,900.00 to $341,100.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
