General Description:

The Field Medical Advisor is the Medical Affairs Department’s representative in relations to the Healthcare Establishments/Healthcare Professionals (HCP)/Opinion Leaders to provide scientific and medical information in response to their requests.

The Field Medical Advisor develops scientific partnerships to optimize patient care and the development of BeOne’s molecules, and supports the Medical Affairs Department before and after launch in the development of the pipeline in his or her fields of expertise.

The Field Medical Advisor supports the development of BeOne’s preclinical and clinical pipeline by coordinating external collaborations and research efforts with Healthcare Professionals and experts in the field.

You will work in close collaboration with colleagues from Medical Affairs, Marketing and Sales, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Legal Affairs, Pharmacovigilance and other cross-functional partners.

Essential Functions of the Job:

In the course of his or her duties, the Field Medical Advisor is entrusted with the following non-promotional tasks (non-exhaustive list):

Strategy

  • Identify medical experts and national or regional institutional networks (healthcare decision[1]makers, public health organizations, etc.) in his or her field of expertise in his or her region.

  • Analyze the environmental characteristics of the therapeutic area in relation to the regional context.

  • Define regional strategic medical issues in line with the company's national strategy.

  • Develop, implement and monitor regional medical plans (in line with national medical plans)

  • in his/her region, while respecting allocated resources and schedules.

  • Ensure coordination with other medical plan stakeholders.

Medical and Scientific Project Management

  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with Healthcare Professionals and cooperative groups in BeOne's therapeutic areas.

  • Propose, initiate, implement and monitor scientific partnerships/actions in line with the cross-functional strategy established for the centers in his/her region.

  • Participate in the organization of medical events (e.g. Staffs, Congresses, AdBoard...) according to needs.

  • Inform the medical community about BeOne’s pipeline and targeted therapeutic areas.

  • Contribute to or conduct research on therapeutic areas/indications and on developments in the environment and therapeutic care and support.

  • Participate in medical congresses and report on information received.

R&D and Clinical Development

  • Participate in the set-up and follow-up of clinical studies conducted by the laboratory, in support of head office and clinical operations teams.

  • Identify and verify investigators and sites for company-sponsored clinical trials.

  • Present preliminary results of BeOne’s studies to investigators.

  • Provide impactful feedback/information to internal stakeholders on emerging clinical and scientific trends from external interactions to help shape company research, and to ensure the safe and appropriate use of BeOne’s products.

  • Contribute to or conduct research into therapeutic areas/indications and therapeutic alternatives.

  • Assist in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings according to needs.

  • Serve as the primary territory liaison for the submission and review of Investigator Sponsored Research proposals, facilitating the process from concept submission through publication.

Training

  • Provide advice and scientific/medical expertise to Key Account Managers and Regional Field Managers.

Promotional and Non-Promotional Material

  • Guarantee the scientific and ethical rigor of promotional material (campaigns, etc.) and non-promotional material (speakers' documents, field medical advisor, etc.) in compliance with the French Public Health Code, and the current French Promotional Activities Charter and its Guidance.

Cross-functional activities

  • Build strong relationships with the Medical Affairs Department and collaborate with BeOne's European and Global Medical Affairs teams.

  • Interact with sales teams on cross-functional projects unrelated to products.

  • Collaborate with Pharmaceutical Affairs for validation of processes, projects and documents.

Scientific and Medical Information

  • Participate in the Medical Information process.

  • Provide, reactively to requests from the HCPs, first-line scientific communication on the products/environment entrusted to them by presenting data on BeOne’s products, including clinical data, development data, publications, through individual interviews or scientific meetings.

  • Provide scientific communication on BeOne’s pipeline products and/or indications in development, at the request of Healthcare Professionals.

  • Answer scientific and medical questions, as required, for hospital medical committees responsible for the proper use of drugs.

Compliance with applicable regulations:

  • In compliance with BeOne’s procedures, report to the company without delay any adverse reaction, quality complaint or off label use of which he/she is aware.

  • With the exception of his regulatory obligations, strictly respect the professional secrecy towards patients and do not reveal anything seen or - heard in the places where the activity is performed.

  • In accordance with BeOne’s guidelines, comply with the rules relating to the benefits offered by persons manufacturing or marketing health products and with the rules relating to the management of personal data.

  • Respect of any applicable local laws and regulations like the French health law and the Reps Charter (and applicable Referential) Respect the applicable Company values and procedures, and especially the deontologic rules and compliance rules.

  • Regularly attend and success regulatory, products and disease trainings.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  No

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical environment and/or Clinical development – Experience in Onco-Hematology is a plus

  • 2+ years of field experience within biotech/pharmaceutical companies

  • Clinical research experience is preferred.

Education Required :

  • MSc/MD/PhD, ideally with relevant clinical, scientific and/or medical affairs experience in relevant therapeutic area.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Experienced with electronic CRM systems.

Travel:

  • Travel is expected within France, as well as to national meetings.

  • Participation at National and International congresses and events.

Other Qualifications:   

  • Impactful verbal and written communication skills.

  • Fluent in English and French, any additional language is a plus.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic and global environment.

  • Strong comprehension of disease states, and knowledge of differential algorithms for treatment decisions and experience in disease states of interest to BeOne.

  • An expert understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, the country health care system, regional cancer care models and the impact on patient care.

  • Ability to identify the unmet medical, educational, and research needs at a local and regional level in the medical community.

  • Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate the findings to meet educational and research needs in order to affect corporate research strategic activities/decisions.

  • Understanding of the design and execution of research studies and strategic implications.
