Build your career and Australia’s future
Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With nbn you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.
A bit about your role
As the Field Area Manager for the Northern Territory, you’ll lead high performing, safety focused field operations across some of Australia’s most unique and remote environments. You’ll set clear expectations, build trust quickly, and drive strong performance across a diverse field workforce. Working independently, you’ll make confident decisions in dynamic conditions and manage operations across vast, dispersed Northern Territory locations. Regional travel to Alice Springs and remote communities will be essential, requiring resilience, autonomy, and strong planning capability.
You’ll strengthen safety and quality practices, influence continuous improvement, and support operational excellence by enhancing processes, systems, and construction practices. Your ability to communicate clearly and maintain strong relationships with delivery partners and field staff will ensure alignment, accountability, and consistent, high quality outcomes.
A bit about you
You’re an authentic, confident leader who can inspire teams, build trust fast, and champion a proactive safety culture. You bring proven experience leading field based teams—ideally in remote, regional, or resource constrained environments—and you’re comfortable operating independently with minimal supervision.
You thrive in the unique working locations, demonstrating sound judgement, resilience, and the ability to prioritise effectively while managing competing operational demands. Experience in field operations, infrastructure, utilities, construction, or remote community work is highly regarded. You model safe behaviours, drive accountability, and maintain constructive relationships across dispersed teams. You’re a practical problem solver with strong leadership maturity—someone who can navigate complexity, uphold standards, and deliver consistent results in challenging environments.
