Field Application Specialist
Location: Tokyo, Japan
The Field Application Specialist (FAS) supports customers with installation, training, troubleshooting, and validation of endotoxin detection systems, assays, and software, ensuring reliable results in regulated lab environments. The role also extends to supporting broader testing solutions and the Discovery (Nucleofector) platform, leveraging strong scientific expertise. This full-time position is Japan-based, with approximately 50% time in the Tokyo office/demo lab and 50% travel to customer sites.

What you will do:
Provide scientific support for endotoxin assays, including method development, validation, and troubleshooting
Train and advise customers on assay design, instrument use, and software in line with regulatory standards
Install, configure, and support instruments and applications for routine lab operations
Troubleshoot application/software issues and coordinate with engineers for hardware resolution
Support validation activities (IOPQ) and ensure compliance with quality systems and cGMP
Develop protocols, training materials, and troubleshooting guides
Act as the first point of contact for customer issues and ensure timely resolution
Collaborate with distributors and partners to deliver training and maintain service quality
Maintain accurate documentation of all support activities
Engage with industry groups and regulatory bodies to stay aligned with current standards
Support team development through mentoring and knowledge sharing
What we are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required; Master’s/PhD in Microbiology preferred
Business-fluent in both English and Japanese (written and verbal)
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and quality systems (pharma, medical device, etc.)
Experience in instrument/software installation, validation, and troubleshooting
Proficiency in software configuration, updates, and application support

【主な業務内容】
エンドトキシン試験におけるメソッド開発、バリデーション、トラブルシューティングを含む科学的サポートの提供
規制要件に準拠したアッセイ設計、機器操作、ソフトウェアに関する顧客トレーニングおよびコンサルティング
機器およびアプリケーションの設置、設定、運用サポート
アプリケーション／ソフトウェアのトラブル対応およびハードウェア問題のエンジニアとの連携対応
IOPQなどのバリデーション支援および品質システム・cGMP遵守の確保
プロトコル、トレーニング資料、トラブルシューティングガイドの作成
顧客からの問い合わせ対応の一次窓口として迅速な課題解決を推進
代理店やパートナーとの連携によるトレーニング提供およびサービス品質の維持
サポート活動に関する正確なドキュメンテーション管理
業界団体や規制当局の動向把握および連携
チームメンバーへの指導・ナレッジ共有
【応募要件】
理系分野の学士号必須（微生物学分野の修士号／博士号尚可）
日本語・英語ともにビジネスレベル以上（読み書き・会話）
医薬品・医療機器等における規制要件および品質システムの理解
機器／ソフトウェアの導入、バリデーション、トラブルシューティングの経験
ソフトウェア設定、アップデート、アプリケーションサポートのスキル
