About the Role

As a Field Application Specialist (FAS), you are the technical heartbeat of our customer relationships. You will bridge the gap between our cutting-edge diagnostic technology and the clinical laboratories that rely on them. From orchestrating complex installations to providing expert training and troubleshooting, your work directly impacts patient care by ensuring laboratory efficiency and accuracy across Austria.

What You’ll Do

  • Implementation & Training: Schedule and lead laboratory qualifications and customer training. You will ensure all materials and personnel are ready for a seamless "go-live" experience.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert for our Sales team and Distributors, participating in site visits to assess customer fit and identify new opportunities.
  • Problem Solving: Troubleshoot complex product issues and LIS/connectivity challenges both on-site and remotely.
  • Laboratory Excellence: Define testing requirements, perform assays with precision, and analyse qualification data to ensure the highest standards of performance.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with the DACH and EMEA teams to refine installation processes and share troubleshooting insights with our global support network.

What You’ll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a background as a Medizinischer Technologe (MT/MTL) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a technical or training role, ideally within the Medical Device/IVD market. Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong IT skills, specifically with LIS/LIMs connectivity, and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Fluent in German and Business-level English. You can explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences with ease.
  • You are autonomous, ethically driven, and thrive in a high-travel role (80%+). You enjoy solving puzzles and helping others succeed.
  • Valid driver’s license and the flexibility to attend occasional trade shows or meetings on weekends/evenings.

The Work Environment Typical outside field-based environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to reach, climb, or balance. Must be physically able to travel up to 75%. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and must own and maintain an automobile suitable for travel to customer sites, airport, etc. Travel includes airplane, train, automobile, and overnights. On a typical workday, 80% of time meeting with people, 20% of the time on computer, doing paperwork, or on phone. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
