DESCRIPTION:

At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll join a dedicated team providing world-class scientific expertise and support to our Biosciences (BID) customers, with a focus on Cell Biology, particularly the Attune Flow Cytometry and Bigfoot Cell Sorter portfolios. As a Field Applications Scientist, Biosciences, you'll serve as a trusted technical advisor helping customers optimize their use of our advanced technologies across multiple scientific domains. In this role, you'll deliver exceptional pre-sales and post-sales support through product demonstrations, hands-on training, troubleshooting assistance and technical consultation on Cell Biology applications.

Working closely with sales teams and cross-functional partners, you'll help customers achieve significant discoveries while building long-term relationships that drive business success. REQUIREMENTS:

1. Education

  • Advanced Degree, no prior experience required; or 
    Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of hands-on laboratory experience with relevant instrumentation and applications 
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Biology or related Biological Science discipline 
  • Additional relevant certifications a plus

2. Experience

  • Requires minimum 3 years of laboratory or related work hands-on technical experience 
  • Strong expertise in Cell Biology, particularly Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting.
  • Additional experience in Imaging/Microscopy and Protein Workflows is a plus.
  • Demonstrated expertise in field application support, customer training, and technical troubleshooting
  • Experience with data analysis, experimental design, and method development

  • Strong presentation and communication skills for delivering technical content to diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for understanding customer needs
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant scientific software
  • Fluency in English required; additional language skills beneficial
  • Deep technical knowledge of specific product portfolio and applications
  • Understanding of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous learning
  • Ability to travel frequently (30-50% of time)
