Are you wanting to get your foot in the door at a fast-growing Company? Webber, an industry leader in construction and infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic Safety Coordinator to join our team.
Your Role: Driving excellence through technical expertise and innovation
The Site Safety Coordinator will be responsible for providing safety coverage in the field and coordination with sub-contractors and their safety personnel for work on the project site. This individual shall assist the Site Safety Manager in managing the site safety program. The Site Safety Coordinator will be based on the jobsite and shall assist The FWE site safety team ensure compliance with company safety policy and processes as well as federal/state guidelines.
What You Will Do:
This is a field first position meaning much of the time (75%) shall be in the field, evaluating workers and performing walk throughs to evaluate the areas for safety hazards.
Report these observations into the online SMS.
Assist as a member of any incident investigation that is required to be performed.
Assist with reporting requirements for incidents including documenting incident in the SMS.
Ensure a "Safety First" attitude throughout the project from all levels of management and operations.
Maintain inventories of safety supplies and report this weekly to the Safety Manager.
Submitting daily reports of all safety activities involved with to the Safety Manager.
Assist with presenting safety information to the crew during All Hands Meetings.
Participate in any safety committees established for the site.
Ensure the site is following corporate and project specific safety and health policies as well as federal (OSHA), state and local safety standards
Work closely with field supervision to implement more complex safety aspects of the project construction including lifting plans, traffic control, work plans, etc.
Assist with the selection, training, development, and appraisal of project safety plans and processes.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with the owner or the owner's representative and Ferrovial Webber Energy personnel.
Read, understand, and plan according to the work specifications and contract responsibilities
Assist with the anticipation of project conflicts, communication of preventative action plans, and implement approved solutions to avoid issues
Understand and assist with the planning of work according to project plans
Assist with the oversight of Subcontractors
Monitor and report safety incidents and reports
Assist with presentation of site orientation for workers and visitors
Other unlisted duties will be assigned
Who You Are: A Profile of Success
Experience of at least 1 to 7 years of safety experience in the construction industry
Experience of at least 1 to 3 years in Renewable Generation Projects (Solar or Wind Farms)
OSHA 510
NFPA 70E will be valued though not required
Valid driver license for frequent travel
Bilingual English/Spanish will be valued though not required
Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind. Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
Computer knowledge and working knowledge of Microsoft office tools.
