Role Overview

As a Sergeant, you will lead daily operations of our Law Enforcement Unit under the direction of a Lieutenant. You'll supervise Police Officers, manage workflows, oversee administrative documentation, and foster an inclusive team environment. Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate law enforcement staff performing security duties including post assignments, patrol, access control, screening, surveillance, and special assignments
  • Direct resources and personnel during shifts to maintain optimal security coverage
  • Evaluate situations requiring security intervention and direct appropriate responses using sound judgment and proper force protocols when necessary
  • Monitor and operate bank security and life safety systems including access control, alarm systems, screening equipment, and video surveillance
  • Serve as a liaison between management and operational staff, facilitating effective communication in both directions
  • Maintain high standards of quality, efficiency, and customer service through accountability and appropriate coaching
  • Ensure compliance with mandated security procedures while maintaining excellent customer service
  • Document incidents thoroughly and prepare clear, concise reports
  • Support team-building activities and contribute to positive department morale
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding processes for new team members
  • Perform federal law enforcement duties as authorized under Section 11(q) of the Federal Reserve Act

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related work experience
  • Proficiency with PCs, email, Microsoft Office, and Law Enforcement equipment/technology systems
  • Excellent judgment when making decisions in stressful situations
  • Strong conflict resolution and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise, schedule, and evaluate the work of subordinates
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to qualify with firearms and other law enforcement equipment
  • Commitment to supporting an inclusive work environment
  • Age 21 or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Clean criminal history record (no felony convictions, no court-ordered supervision/probation within 10 years, no pending criminal charges)
  • No domestic violence convictions that prohibit firearm possession
  • Physical capabilities to perform all essential job functions
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background investigation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a related field plus two years of security-related experience, OR four years of combined relevant experience and specialized training

Physical Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate the strength, stamina, agility, and balance needed to restrain resistant individuals and protect oneself and others from physical assaults
  • Requires physical capability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and occasionally run, crouch, or crawl
  • Lift 25-50 lbs. frequently, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a color vision test without the use of an X-Chrome lens or other colored filters

  • Required to be capable of carrying firearms and additional law enforcement tools that may be secured on the officer's utility belt
  • May encounter environmental elements, operating machinery, or potentially dangerous situations

Selection Process:

Candidates undergo a comprehensive evaluation including:

  • Fitness-for-duty physical examination
  • Psychological assessment
  • Detailed background investigation
  • Drug screening
  • Must pass the six-week Basic Law Enforcement course at one of our Federal Reserve Banks and complete Field Training after graduation.

Compensation & Benefits:

Base Salary Range: $76,285 – $82,709 (Location: Phoenix)

Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with geographic and other market data.
