Summary of Job Duties:

The Project Director’s position duties include daily communication and alignment of the program’s network of educators and resources to strategically build out a network of technical assistance providers through targeted partnerships. This temporary, grant funded position is a 100% Extension appointment in the Department of Agricultural Economics & Agribusiness working within the Southern Risk Management Education Center as a Project Director. Relevant expertise for consideration for this position includes an advanced degree in social sciences and/or agriculture with demonstrated capacity to manage multi-disciplined teams/entities and data analysis. Project Director leads the design and delivery of FARM Champions outreach and engagement programs activities: Duties include working closely with partners, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to address identified needs and achieve measurable impacts. Primary duty is managing the daily activities of Farm Champions, a national outreach program made up of technical assistance cooperators. Director will outline and implement a strategic approach to expand and elevate the F.A.R.M. Champions network by: · strengthening communication; · increasing recruitment; · intentionally capturing and sharing the real-world success stories that result from Champions’ work with producers; · tracking and evaluating progress alongside continuous process improvement.


Qualifications:

(1) The position requires a Master’s degree in relevant discipline (agriculture,

or social sciences) plus five (5) years of relevant professional experience.

(2) Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication ability,

quantitative skills, and experience in collaborative scholarship.

(1) Experience with Extension, land-grant system, or other industry/stakeholder

engagement activities; experience in agricultural engagement and analysis,

or technical assistance environments.

(2) Experience in outreach and engagement, including education fields

including customer service experience through database management

(3) Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality.

(4) Demonstrated experience and understanding of USDA farmer/rancher programs.
