Your Opportunity

Join us in making a tangible impact on children and families in Lightning Ridge and Walgett through the Family Preservation Program! We're seeking a compassionate and skilled Case Manager to join our dynamic team and contribute to the well-being of vulnerable families.

In this role, you'll embark on a fulfilling journey of providing targeted support to families with children aged 0-17. Your efforts will directly contribute to ensuring children grow up in safe and nurturing environments, where their health and well-being are prioritized.

With a pool car provided for outreach work during business hours, you'll have the opportunity to engage directly with families in their homes and communities, providing personalized support where it matters most.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide culturally embedded case management tailored to families with children aged 0-17. Your approach will be sensitive to diverse cultural backgrounds, ensuring every family receives personalized support.
  • Focus on parental vulnerabilities such as domestic violence, mental health issues, disability, and substance misuse. Empower parents with strategies, skills, and resources to enhance family stability and well-being.
  • Facilitate access to therapeutic services for parents and quality children's services to promote healthy child development. Your role is pivotal in ensuring comprehensive support for every family member.
  • Collaborate closely with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to identify and engage families at risk of significant harm, providing timely interventions and support.

Requirements for Success

  • Qualifications in Human Services with at least one-year relevant experience or substantial relevant experience in the human services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in case management, particularly with families and children
  • Knowledge of issues like domestic violence, mental health, and child development is highly valued.
  • Computer literate in a Windows environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain

                 

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
