What we want
Join the College of Nursing in an innovative partnership with Bluebonnet Trails Community Services to deliver primary care in an integrated behavioral health setting. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you’ll provide direct care to patients with psychiatric, substance use, and mental/behavioral health conditions, working collaboratively with mental health professionals to improve outcomes in Central Texas.

Required Education and Experience
Master’s degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
One year directly related experience serving as a family nurse practitioner
Required Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP), licensed Registered Nurse (RN), and CPR certified.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in MAT
Bilingual
Responsibilities
Patient Care and Management
Performs history, psychosocial, and physical examinations, diagnosis acute and chronic primary care conditions, formulates therapeutic plans of care, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests, primary care medication management and provides education to patients and their families.
Coordinates the care of patients in order to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient-centered care.
Liaises between clinical staff and consult services.
Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service to tie the service together.
Consults with physicians and other members of the healthcare team regarding the care of patients with complex diagnosis.
Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professionals to determine health needs of patients and families.
Demonstrates and role models an interdisciplinary collaborate approach to patient care.
Coordinate the patient care plan and communicate with the integrated behavioral healthcare team.
Documentation and Record Keeping
Documents patient care.
Documents clinical encounters clearly, precisely, and in a timely manner.
Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses healthcare needs, and provides patient education.
Clinical Consultation and Education
Serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation formal and informal education, review of literature and participation in seminars, conferences and simulation.
Collaborates with both family practice and psychiatry physicians
Promotes costs savings and optimal patient experience in primary care
Applies, models and teaches evidence-based Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral for Treatment SBIRT in clinical setting.
Professional Development and Improvement
Participates in rapid cycle continuous process improvement.
Participates in scholarly projects as appropriate.
Serves on committees, providing presentations and participating in divisional staff development.
Participates in grant data reporting
Pursues Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) waiver within 12 months of employment.
