Faith & Development Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:

This role plays a pivotal part in integrating faith-based approaches into community development, fostering inclusive partnerships, and ensuring that financial stewardship supports sustainable transformational development across WV Papua New Guinea programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Leadership & Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of WVPNG Faith & Development projects and internal initiatives to ensure timely and effective implementation.

  • Ensure adherence to project norms, policies, and quality standards.

  • Monitor progress against objectives and adjust plans as needed.

  • Conduct annual assessments, develop action plans, and report quarterly on progress.

Staff Spiritual Formation & Capacity Building

  • Work with People & Culture and Senior Management to build staff capacity and contribute to an ethos aligned with World Vision’s Vision, Mission, Core Values, Guiding Principles, and Policies.

  • Develop and implement program strategies for staff spiritual nurture and holistic formation relating to leadership and capacity building.

  • Support staff to understand and demonstrate spiritual formation and leadership in their roles.

Strategic Leadership & Program Integration

  • Attend Senior Management Team meetings as required to provide corporate leadership for the Faith & Development program.

  • Contribute to ensuring ministry quality, integrity, and commitment to transformation in the lives of children and families.

  • Work with area program and national management to implement and evaluate the bi-annual Strategic Imperative 1 (SI1) Plan.

  • Strengthen integration of faith perspectives across all projects in alignment with SI1.

Stakeholder Engagement & Network Building

  • Mobilize and engage faith leaders, community leaders, and faith-based organizations to support shared ministry and child wellbeing targets.

  • Strengthen partnerships and resource sharing within the F&D space at all levels.

  • Organize and support network strengthening and relationship-building activities with faith leaders, churches, Christian agencies, and other faith-based organizations.

Reporting & Technical Support

  • Submit monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports to the National Director and Regional Faith & Development Advisor.

  • Highlight learning and progress through consistent reporting.

  • Provide technical support to Area Programs and portfolio managers on F&D integration in programming.

Financial Oversight

  • Supervise financial management of project grants, ensuring alignment with budgets and activity schedules.

  • Monitor expenditures and ensure timely disbursement of funds.

  • Prepare and submit required financial and narrative reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Educational level required: University Degree in Theology, project management (in related field is desired)
  • 3 years of experience in Church or Christian ministry work
  • 3 years of experience in project management
  • At least 5 years’ experience in international development work in an INGO setting
  • Good communication, networking and partnership skills with faith leaders is essential
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Demonstrated inter-personal skills in multicultural teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, relevant for tasks related to research and strategy development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and internet.
