Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Failure Analysis Engineer located in Guadalajara, North Campus.

Reporting to the Director, NPI this involves responsibilities for implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment. Implementing Solutions on Critical items to propose to the customers and to keep in good health the failure inventories of the repair or manufacturing process and to keep and increase the Technical knowledge and work with education department to develop or make planning to train the technical people.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Conduct failure analysis for AC/DC, DC/DC and LLC power supplies, diagnose electrical failures and propose solutions.
  • Test power modules with oscilloscopes, multimeters and other tools, analyze the design issues or component failures on PCBA level.
  • Analyze test log, CPK data, BI log data, and report findings.
  • Support pilot production, troubleshoot for production defects, provide repair guidelines and technical documentations.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to optimize designs, ensuring compliance with safety and EMC standards.
  • Prepare bilingual FA reports and present findings to clients or internal teams.
  • Plan and improve failure analysis capability and capacity continuously, including training technicians.

Experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong experience of failure analysis, especially in power supplier product failure analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities to identify root causes of failures.
  • Proficient in switch-mode power supply topologies(BUCK, BOOST, Flyback, Forward and so on) and failure analysis techniques.
  • A deep understanding of electrical components and power electronics.
  • Professional, organized, teamwork, flexible, passionate and self- motivated.
