With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
The Opportunity
Do you want to be the bridge between cutting-edge semiconductor innovation and the world’s most demanding automotive and industrial leaders? At Allegro MicroSystems, we are global leaders in power and sensing solutions that drive a safer, more sustainable, and autonomous future.
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to join our global team as a key representative for the Japanese market. In this high-impact role, you won't just be managing quality issues; you will be a strategic liaison between our Japanese customers (including major automotive OEMs) and our global engineering headquarters in the U.S. and manufacturing sites in Southeast Asia. This is your chance to leverage your technical expertise and bilingual skills to ensure the highest standards of excellence for products that power the future of e-mobility and smart manufacturing.
What You’ll Do
Act as the primary technical interface between Japanese customers and Allegro’s U.S. Quality Assurance and Sales teams. You will participate in and interpret during high-level technical conference calls to ensure perfect alignment.
Lead the investigation of quality issues, coordinating root-cause analysis and formulating robust countermeasures. You will be responsible for preparing and explaining 8D reports, Ishikawa diagrams, and 5-Why analyses to our customers.
Translate complex technical and quality-related documents between English and Japanese, ensuring that technical nuances are preserved and understood by all stakeholders.
Coordinate with our overseas manufacturing sites and accompany customer audits to ensure Allegro’s processes consistently meet and exceed Japanese automotive standards.
Correlate electrical defects with physical failure analysis results, utilizing advanced tools like emission microscopy, SEM, and FIB to provide deep-dive technical insights.
Work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, multicultural environment to ensure timely resolution of customer inquiries and proactive quality improvements.
Who You Are
You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and have at least 2 years of experience in the Japanese automotive or semiconductor industry, 3+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry (wafer fabrication, IC testing, assembly, etc.) and 2+ years of experience in failure analysis or component analysis
You possess native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency, with the ability to navigate and lead discussions in multicultural environments.
You have hands-on experience with quality tools (FTA, 8D, Ishikawa) and a deep understanding of failure analysis techniques (e.g., decapsulation, probe analysis, SEM).
You are self-motivated, eager to learn, and possess the analytical skills to correlate complex data into actionable quality improvements.
You are willing to travel (less than 10% annually) to our U.S. headquarters and Southeast Asian factories to maintain global quality standards.
