Essential Functions
The employee will demonstrate TSTC’s Core Values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity with internal and external stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.
Academy Coordination, Delivery, & Oversight (Primary Focus)
Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Faculty Development Academy sessions at TSTC Sweetwater campus.
Serve as the primary operational lead and central point of contact for Academy logistics, communications, timelines, and participant support.
Collaborate with content developers and academic partners to ensure instructional materials,
activities, and assessments are prepared and delivery-ready.
Maintain Academy calendars, schedules, communications, and documentation with accuracy and consistency.
Statewide Faculty Mentorship Oversight (First-Year Faculty Experience)
Oversee the statewide faculty mentorship structure for newly hired faculty during their first year.
Track and monitor new faculty participation, engagement, milestones, and completion throughout the full first-year onboarding and development cycle.
Coordinate mentorship touchpoints, required activities, and documentation in collaboration with academic leadership and facilitators.
Identify risks, gaps, or disengagement early and escalate concerns with recommendations for intervention.
Maintain records and reporting related to mentorship outcomes, participation, and compliance.
Facilitator Leadership, Support, & Evaluation
Onboard, schedule, supervise, and evaluate Faculty Development Academy facilitators.
Serve as the lead facilitator resource, ensuring consistent facilitation quality, learner-centered practices, and alignment with Academy expectations.
Provide facilitators with tools, training, materials, schedules, and performance feedback to support effective delivery.
Conduct regular evaluation of facilitation effectiveness using feedback, observations, and outcome data; implement improvements as needed.
Serve as the liaison between facilitators, Academy leadership, and academic stakeholders.
Coordinate facilitator assignments and provide session-level operational support (room setup, technology access, materials, schedules).
Training Facilitation & Instructional Leadership
Facilitate Academy sessions, workshops, and faculty learning experiences as needed.
Model effective adult learning strategies, learner-centered pedagogy, and best practices in both face-to-face and online environments.
Lead discussions, activities, and small-group learning experiences that support faculty growth and engagement.
Provide coaching, guidance, and real-time support to faculty participants during Academy sessions.
Comprehensive Risk Management & Annual Academy Assessment
Conduct an annual comprehensive assessment of the Faculty Development Academy, evaluating delivery effectiveness, operational risk, compliance, and participant outcomes.
Identify instructional, operational, facilitation, or compliance risks associated with Academy programming and faculty onboarding.
Develop mitigation strategies and recommendations to address identified risks.
Prepare assessment summaries, findings, and recommendations for leadership review.
Support continuous improvement efforts by using data, feedback, and institutional priorities to refine Academy operations.
Record Keeping, Reporting, & Compliance
Maintain accurate records for attendance, completion, faculty progress, mentorship tracking, and facilitator assignments.
Prepare reports and documentation for Institutional Effectiveness/Institutional Research and leadership as required.
Ensure digital records, shared drives, and Academy documentation are well organized, accessible, and audit-ready.
Resource & Budget Coordination
Coordinate Academy resource needs, including instructional materials, technology, and contracted facilitation support.
Track expenditures and assist with budget planning and routine spending oversight.
Ensure physical, digital, and instructional resources are consistently available and properly managed.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years experience
Demonstrated ability to facilitate training, lead groups, and support learner engagement.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in faculty development, instructional support, or large-scale training coordination.
Background in teaching, higher education, adult education, or professional development.
Experience supporting first-year faculty onboarding or mentorship programs.
Familiarity with performance-based or competency-based education models.
Experience coordinating budgets or department-level resource management.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional strategies, and pedagogy across face-to-face and online environments.
Strong organizational, planning, and follow-through skills in complex operational environments.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives involving facilitators, faculty participants, reporting, and compliance.
Proficiency with LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas), collaboration tools, scheduling systems, and data tracking/reporting tools.
Communicates clearly and effectively to inform, align, and engage internal stakeholders.
Strategic Planning & Operational Execution
Translates strategy into actionable plans and delivers results through disciplined execution.
Instructional Facilitation & Adult Learning Leadership
Designs and facilitates effective learning experiences that support adult learners and performance improvement.
