Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Facilities Project Manager (Temporary) to join our Site Facilities Team based in Columbus, MS.
This role will set best-in-class efforts to establish, implement and monitor activities associated with maintenance and repair in accordance with Airbus Helicopters Processes. The Project Manager will coordinate all involved efforts to establish, monitor, and revise schedules and budgets; track and manage changes; support the writing of contracts and manage their execution; assess and manage risks. Recommend and manage initiatives to increase and improve service delivery considering cost, schedule, and quality. This assignment is temporary and could last up to 24 months.

On the eastern border of Mississippi you’ll find Columbus, home to our Helicopter manufacturing and assembly lines and Center of Excellence for the entire North America region. It’s here that we produce the UH-72A Lakota Helicopters for the U.S. Army in addition to the H-125 aircraft for civil and commercial customers.
Your Challenges:
Primary deliverables: 25%
Coordinates with proponent groups and building committees to facilitate rational facility planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
Prepares requests for proposals and conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate hiring architectural and construction management services.
Prepare, submit and manage facility capitalized expenditure budgets and projects with the clients’ goals and objectives addressed, track variances and ensure a smooth recovery process. Partner with Workplace project resources to ensure leasehold acquisition, projects, build-outs, renovations and expansions are organized and limit disruption to the business
Ensure understanding of and adherence to contract requirements, business management requirements, and procurement requirements across the Workplace organization.
Monitors and reports on all phases of planning and construction to ensure that implementation and prescribed activities are carried out in accordance with specified objectives.
Maintain high client, customer, and user satisfaction with services provided.
Support company Facilities & H&S program initiatives and ensure compliance to all assigned tasks and action items.
Capital Project Planning and execution: 20%
Develop and manage Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) plans, ensuring facility investments aligned with long-term production goals.
Create and provide written documentation through the CAPCOM process
Conduct comprehensive site assessments and feasibility studies to define project scope, technical requirements, and ROI for facility upgrades.
Collaborate with cross-functional leadership (Production, HSE, and Finance) to ensure project designs meet operational requirements without disrupting active production processes.
Oversee the permitting and zoning process, ensuring all capital projects complied with local, state, and federal building codes and environmental regulations
Scheduling: 20%
Develop project schedules in MS Project complete with predecessors, successors, planned and actual start- and finish dates, critical path analysis
Track project schedules on a weekly basis and update with actual start/finish dates
Make schedule adjustments based on changing project requirements
Keep project team, customer and leadership informed on changing project milestones
Track Schedule Performance Indicator (SPI)
Contract management: 15%
Early involvement in the planning and procurement phase for construction or renovation
Real-time and accurate tracking of contractual changes
Ensure and monitor all contractors per project are in compliance with the ISN network
Monitor and evaluate contractor performance through KPI’s
Interpretation of contractual requirements, and, as needed, feedback solicitation with internal counsel
Manager project controls: 15%
Prepare project reports and control expenditures in accordance with budget allocations
Assists in development, implementation and maintenance of new and existing standards of practice for project management activities
Support facilities team with understanding of building codes, space utilization, and utility requirements
Technical expert to the CFT process including creating specifications and scope of work statements
Provides counsel to Workplace leadership and other related functions such as finance, procurement, HR, Security, Health & Safety
Ensures effective, timely written and oral communication with consultants and internal customers during all phases of design and construction
Recommend and manage initiatives to increase and improve service delivery considering both cost and quality
Maintain SIPP Compliance and execution for all project related activities for all contractors and subcontractors
Additional Responsibilities: 5%

Required:
Required 4 year degree in any Major Engineering Studies and minimum 5 years engineering, construction management, or equivalent field experience.
Working knowledge and application of OSHA, NEC, ISO, NFPA, ANSI, and ADA standards required. General knowledge of FAA, EASA, and ICAO standards.
Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
Minimum of documented (3) years experience in Project Management including Maintenance and Repair, new installation or equivalent experience.
Financial experience for budgeting, tracking, invoicing purposes.
Technical experience to comprehend technical data packages.
General office, CMMS, Microsoft Project or similar Project Management software
Current in industry trends, best practices, and technology, ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and experience with large construction/renovation projects
State issued driver’s license
Up to 10% Domestic Travel involved
Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
Working knowledge and application of OSHA, NFPA, and ADA standards required.
Current knowledge of IBC and industry trends, best practices, technology.
Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings, and experience with significant construction/renovation projects
Ability to lead and motivate a diverse workforce.
Ability to work without direct supervision/self-motivator.
Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form in English.
Ability to write detailed reports explaining project status
Highly proficient in general office software systems, either Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
Microsoft Project or similar Project Management software.
Preferred:
Master’s Degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Construction/Project Management/Engineering or related field.
5 years in Facilities or Construction project management.
3 years as a field construction engineer or building design engineer.
OR -
3 years as a tradesperson foreman or supervisor of a trade (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or building construction).
PMP Certification (Project Management Professional)
General knowledge of FAA, EASA, and ICAO standards.
Knowledge of estimating, budgeting, and scheduling practices.
SAP knowledge
AutoCAD knowledge
