Location: Dijon, France

Salary – Starting salary £39,000 plus allowances (Negotiable dependent on relevant experience / qualifications)

The Facility Specialist role supports and delivers our facility management responsibilities and requirements across our highly regulated estates. Your primary responsibility will be supporting, managing, and delivering a workplace environment that is safe, secure, and compliant with all relevant regulations and legislation, thus enabling delivery of requirements to meet the needs of our programme demanders.

You will support and help maintain a designated portfolio of facilities on behalf of the appointed Lead Facility Manager; one of your key focuses is to ensure maximum facility availability every day. 

This role is part of services provided by our facilities management team, where you will be the primary lead (non-technical) focal point for all UK and joint French work activities, and supporting the UK team. You will be an integrated part in managing the Plan of the Week (PLOW) and the Plan of the Day (PLOD) boards.

Whilst delivering facility management activities, there will be requirements for you to act as the key interface between the facilities team, projects, residents, and other business functions/stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for providing support on behalf of the Lead Facility Manager (LFM), or their designates, in delivering against the responsibilities aligned to the role, allocated area, or facilities, whilst enabling work to maximise availability of assets to programme demanders.
  • Accountable for escalation of significant issues to the Lead Facility Manager (LFM).
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security, and quality and be a great collaborator.

Activities and Responsibilities:

  • To be the non-technical focal point for all UK and joint French work activities and to manage access control to facilities after ensuring that requesting personnel are approved to enter these areas (by means of validating they are accredited via Training records or listed on the Plan de Prevention (PDP)). 
  • To ensure that the Plan de Prevention’s (PDP’s) are correct and relevant stakeholders have signed on to these.
  • To ensure authorised isolations of alarms, sensors, or systems (required to allow safe and approved operations) and that this information is recorded correctly and all necessary parties informed. 
  • To manage the Plan of the Week (PLOW) and the Plan of the Day (PLOD) boards and ensure they are relevant and up to date.
  • Maintain competency to create a weekly update for the LFM to include works completed, future works and any issues.
  • De-conflict activities between both nations.
  • To ensure all aspects of admin are completed in a timely manner, such as ensuring all invites to the meeting are sent out each week and considering annual leave and ensuring that there is a representative from each area.
  • To monitor the previous day’s activities to capture anything that is outstanding added on the new plan for the day.  Brief out the breakdown of the day with the stakeholders in an organized manner.
  • To brief all attending the PLOD the facility status such as breakdowns, unplanned work, visits within the designated area UK or French activities and any high hazard works being carried out in the facility, UK or French.

  • Prior Facility, Health and Safety, relevant experience would be an advantage.

  • Experience working in/with project teams to ensure delivery of modifications to facilities/plant.

You’ll need to have the ability to work calmly and constructively in a priority changing environment and be able to manage your own workload. You will also have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and ability to work to tight deadlines.

Important things you need to know:

  • You will need to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role. This will be funded by AWE. The nature of our work does mean you need to be a British Citizen who has been resident in the UK for the past 5 years to apply for SC clearance and 10 years for DV.
