Job Summary: This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA FUTURE OPS (FUOPS) DIVISION.

Major Duties:

  • Plans, coordinates, and directs a variety of related work operations or functions utilizing best practices for data centers/mission critical facilities.
  • Performs Facility Management Requirements Planning to develop, evaluate, and implement immediate and long-range goals, objectives, plans, and schedules, in order to meet substantial changes in program authority and/or funding.
  • Coordinates project priorities regarding construction, maintenance, and repair of structures, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
  • Reviews/ modifies/ schedules routine Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) schedules for facility equipment for: boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, electrical system, and primary transformers.
  • Reviews/ modifies/ schedules routine Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) schedules for fire sprinkler system, fire alarm system, UPS systems, emergency generators, and shredders.

Qualifications: In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: Undergraduate or graduate education with a major of study in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration. OR Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs; Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans and specifications for workability, informing contractors of construction and reporting requirements, and supervising operations for conformance with project plans; Performing maintenance or construction work, including estimating material and labor costs for a variety of construction or maintenance projects (such as construction or maintenance of brick, frame, structural steel, reinforced concrete, and other type structures ranging from one- or two-story buildings to larger structures), directing actual work operations, and maintaining appropriate contacts with the organization funding the project. AND Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Developing and managing facilities Plan of Management (POM) submissions, annual maintenance budgets, and statements of work (SOWs) OR serving as a subject matter expert on technical evaluation boards and exercising independent judgment to review bids and develop recommendations.
