Independently supervise and manage the maintenance team to ensure optimal equipment operation, reliability, and safety compliance. Coordinate maintenance resources to effectively support production needs, facilitate the introduction of new technologies and equipment, design and maintain mechanical and end-to-end (E2E) automation equipment for efficiency, troubleshoot and repair equipment failures, and provide technical support and training.
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
- Supervise and manage the maintenance team, set priorities and work schedules, and ensure adherence to safety procedures (e.g., LOTO, permits) and applicable Solventum and regulatory standards and internal specifications.
- Coordinate maintenance resources to support production requirements: plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance, manage work orders, and ensure timely line support and minimal downtime.
- Facilitate the introduction of new technologies and equipment: participate in user require specification, vendor selection, FAT, installation, commissioning, and handover; ensure maintenance readiness (spares, tools, documentation).
- Design, improve, and maintain mechanical and E2E automation equipment for efficiency and reliability; implement modifications and optimization to enhance OEE, cycle time, and stability.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures; perform diagnostics and root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions, and collaborate with OEMs/vendors as needed.
- Manage critical spares, calibration, and equipment documentation (schematics, BOMs, SOPs); maintain technical records and change control.
- Provide technical support and hands-on training to technicians and operators; develop skills matrices, SOPs/WIs, and certification plans to strengthen team capability.
- Drive TPM, Lean, and Kaizen activities; apply basic reliability tools and support predictive maintenance initiatives to reduce unplanned downtime.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Engineering, Quality, and EHS to resolve issues, plan shutdowns, and continuously improve equipment performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Automation/Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Over 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment, including 2+ years in a maintenance supervisory or team leadership role.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, drive systems) and E2E automation equipment (PLC/HMI, motion control, robotics); ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings.
- Experience with preventive/corrective maintenance planning, work order management, and root cause troubleshooting.
- Strong EHS mindset and knowledge of LOTO, machine guarding, permits, and safety compliance.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills; capable of conducting technical exchanges in both Chinese and English.
- Proficient PC skills; familiarity with basic data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Rockwell Allen-Bradley/Siemens controls and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, OPC UA); experience with SCADA/HMI and vision systems is a plus.
- Experience introducing new equipment/technologies and managing vendors and CAPEX projects.
- Familiarity with reliability engineering tools and predictive maintenance (vibration, thermography, lubrication analysis).
- Experience with TPM, Lean, and Kaizen; proven record improving OEE, reducing downtime and maintenance cost.
- Knowledge of quality/EHS standards (ISO 9001/14001), machinery safety, and documentation control.
- Relevant certifications such as Six Sigma, or EHS-related training are a plus.
