About Target
As part of one of the world’s most recognized brands, Target’s Global Supply Chain and Logistics (GSCL) team plays a critical role in getting products into the hands of guests quickly, efficiently, and safely. We are constantly innovating to create smarter, faster, and more sustainable ways of working. Our team thrives on collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning to make Target’s supply chain a competitive advantage.
About the Team
The Facility Designer within Design Engineering develops complex digital and virtual environments for GSCL assets, buildings, and initiatives. The team delivers high-quality interior and exterior 3D visualizations that support cross-functional collaboration, immersive design reviews, and leadership presentations.
Our visual products bring concepts to life — helping stakeholders understand, evaluate, and optimize proposed designs and processes. The team leverages cutting-edge 3D, AR, and VR technologies to support business needs while maintaining a focus on accuracy, agility, and creativity.
About the Role
As a Facility Designer, you will design, develop, and refine digital 3D and immersive environments that visually communicate facility design concepts across Target’s GSCL network. You’ll collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to translate design intent into interactive and realistic virtual experiences that support decision-making and innovation across the enterprise.
You’ll also contribute to the ongoing enhancement of visualization workflows and tools, exploring new technologies to improve efficiency and storytelling within Target’s design ecosystem.
Core Responsibilities
Refine and enhance facility design processes to build cutting-edge VR experiences using Unreal Engine and related tools.
Collaborate with Engineers, Architects, and Project Managers to ensure alignment of designs with project scope and standards.
Interpret interdisciplinary 2D drawings and documents into immersive, technically accurate 3D environments.
Translate high-level conceptual design descriptions into 3D layouts and models aligned with Target’s GSCL design standards.
Develop 3D visualizations, flythrough animations, and renderings to support leadership and stakeholder reviews.
Create optimized 3D assets and complex scene renders following current industry standards.
Build AR/VR experiences that maintain high visual performance and frame rates for XR Experience Centers.
Apply Target’s standard UI/UX design principles for AR/VR applications.
Maintain accuracy, precision, and quality across all 3D deliverables.
Communicate progress and updates effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adapting to new priorities and technologies.
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience in 2D, 3D modeling, rendering, and AR/VR asset preparation.
Proficiency in any of the below tools: AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine, SketchUp, Enscape, Twin motion, and related visualization tools or similar.
