Performs nursing functions and care at a Therapeutic Facility Based Crisis Center including assessment, care and treatment of consumers at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. This position relies on knowledge, experience and judgment with limited supervision and direction to provide quality services to crisis facility consumers. Our ideal LPN has excellent listening and communication skills, can pick up on nonverbal communication and is eager to work on nonstandard nursing assignments. This position is a member of a team that provides consultative support, services, and treatments necessary to provide integrated care to adults with intellectual/developmental disability and co-occurring complex behavioral and/or mental health needs. Provides oversight and general nursing care and services to people in a facility-based crisis/non-hospital setting. All admissions are voluntary. No physical or chemical restraints. The average length of stay is 5-7 days, up to 30. This position requires an LPN. Experience with behavioral health and/or intellectual disabilities preferred.

Part-time: 15 - 20 Hours

Pay: $30.00/Hour


Job Responsibilities:

· Utilize your skills and expertise, current nursing assessment skills and knowledge of nursing principles to assess and monitor consumers with intellectual/developmental disability and co-occurring complex behavioral and/or mental health needs.

· Responding to crises on a timely basis in a therapeutic setting, as needed.

· Comply with Controlled Substances policy and procedures in maintaining accurate inventories and controlled logs, following appropriate guidelines for investigation of discrepancies.

· Monitor consumers and take appropriate action for side effects and adverse reactions to medications.

· Complete QA activities as requested and participate in the QA process.

· Communicate effectively and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team.

· Provide training for both internal and external stakeholders (some training to include nutrition and medication education).

On call availability

Requirement

  • Active and current LPN Licensure in state of employment
  • 2 years’ experience as a  nurse working with behavioral health clients, preferred
  • Working knowledge of psychoactive substance abuse, dependency and the principles and techniques based on best practices, commitment to the use of evidence based treatment and preventative methods
  • Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance required

  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
