Argonne is seeking a proactive Facility Amenities Specialist to manage and enhance hospitality, food service, child care, and conference center operations. The successful candidate will deliver exemplary customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors while leading RFP development, contract execution, and ongoing vendor management.
Initiates, develops, plans, manages, directs and coordinates all on-site and off-site amenity support services across the Lab, including but not limited to the Argonne Guest House, the Cafeteria, the 401 Grille, the ABRI Credit Union, the Argonne Child Development Center, the Fitness Center, the Freund Lodge, Argonne Park, the 240 Concrete Café, coffee kiosks, the vending program, and offices located in Chicago, and Washington DC.
- Manages and supports all employee, student and visitor amenities on-site with a focus on tactical plans and implementation, policy, and strategy development to advance ongoing programs and facilities; creates new amenity programs to meet the needs of the Lab’s population.
- Initiates, develops and executes projects to enhance the employee, student and visitor on-site experience.
- Provides oversight and support for all events and high-level meetings and conferences; takes the initiative to understand the customers’ service needs and works with the on-site vendors to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Manages the reservation and meeting implementation process for conference spaces and identifies improvements for added efficiencies and user benefits.
- Manages the off-site spaces at Harper Court in Chicago and Spaces in Washington DC, providing direction to employees on usage of the space and coordination with the building operators/landlords.
- Manages the local hotel program and recommends improvements to benefit the Lab’s travel program.
- Manages one full-time administrative support employee directly and oversees more than 40 contractor employees.
- Serves as the Technical Representative for all contracts involving amenity services; works closely with the service providers to guarantee positive experiences for all customers and to assure work is performed in accordance with contract specifications and Lab policies and procedures, especially those for safety and security.
- Develops and implements measures to assess vendor performance, ensure continuous improvements and expansions of services, and increase the program utilization and customer base.
- Provides support to Lab Management and DOE on issues related to amenities; serves as the Lab’s subject matter expert on these support services; works regularly with other DOE Labs, state agencies, and area vendors; participates in industry meetings to gain insight on trends and identify enhancements, efficiencies and areas for improvement.

Preferred
- Considerable knowledge of the Lab and its operations, including safety requirements.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management or Business Administration.
- PA3 Level: Bachelor’s and 4+ years of experience or equivalent.

The expected hiring range for this position is $75,750.00 - $118,170.00.
