Overview:

This is a mid to senior level position that will work directly with the Facilities Engineers and Sr. Facilities Technicians to develop advanced skills and expertise with a clear focus on the area of industrial control systems and instruments, and life safety systems.  

The position is a hands-on field technician.  This role will be responsible for daily operations of all facilities systems in a 24/7 operating environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and troubleshooting existing industrial control systems both distributed control systems (DCS), PLCs, and Life Safety Systems.
  • Routine calibration and troubleshooting of all field instruments throughout the facility. Typical filed instruments include level, pressure, pH, variable frequency drives (VFDs), temperature, and relative humidity.
  • Develop new PLC or DCS code, testing, and implementation.
  • Responsible for installation of new or updated filed instruments and communications wiring, either directly or through supervising contractors.
  • Support “shutdown” equipment maintenance activities.
  • Control systems applications for multiple equipment types found in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, such as: 
    • Process Exhaust systems and exhaust scrubbers
    • Clean room HVAC (Makeup Air Units)
    • Chillers
    • Boilers
    • Bulk Gases, Bulk Chemicals
    • Ultra-pure water systems
    • Wastewater Treatment Systems
    • Environmental control equipment
  • Collection and analysis of facilities equipment & systems operational data. Including developing technical/engineering recommendations for equipment or system improvements.

Required Skills:

  • AS/AA in engineering field (electronics, control systems ) preferred.  A combination of relevant experience and industry certifications/training can be substituted for formal education.
  • 7+ years experience within a semiconductor support function or semiconductor facilities operations and equipment maintenance. 
  • Ability to work in an industrial plant/facilities environment wearing the prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) for hearing, chemical protection and fall protection.  Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding as needed for data collection and project planning/execution.
  • Desire and ability to apply basic understanding of control systems theory and practice to various industrial facilities control systems including PLCs, distributed control systems, and field instrumentation. 
  • Ability to apply knowledge of engineering principles to operating Facilities systems to enhance operational reliability and implement improvements.

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $38 to $53.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors 

  • This position includes medical, vision and dental coverage, 401k, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and other benefits.  

  • Benefits for the position includes 10 paid holidays per year, paid vacation starting at 136 hours per year for full-time employees (prorated for part-time employees), and paid sick time that exceeds the requirements of the Washington State Sick Leave law.
