The Opportunity
You, as a Facilities Technician, will support a rapidly growing research and development lab and office facilities and assist with a cGMP building. You are a successful candidate who possesses experience in maintaining building-related equipment and R&D lab support activities.
In this role, you are:
- Supporting daily operations and maintenance of Genentech Facilities, managing building utilities such as HVAC, compressed air, house vacuum systems, microbulk CO2 tanks, and access control systems.
- Analyzing work orders efficiently, suggesting corrective actions, and addressing alarms from the Building Management System to minimize operational impacts.
- Liaising with and managing service providers for regular service visits and emergency calls outside normal working hours, ensuring seamless support and functionality.
- Performing scheduled maintenance rounds, managing inventory of parts and supplies for repairs, and ordering materials as needed while maintaining related documentation and logs.
- Monitoring and performing repairs on building electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and cooling systems while assisting licensed personnel in specialized maintenance tasks.
- Preparing job estimates for customers with detailed time and materials cost calculations and performing quality inspections on completed work to ensure standards are met.
- Developing and maintaining detailed records and logs for equipment maintenance, work orders (WO), and training requirements while adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Promoting continuous workplace safety, environmental best practices, and providing excellent customer support and service to internal and external stakeholders.
Who You Are
- You hold a High School diploma or equivalent. Formal education in a related technical or engineering discipline or related military training/experience is desirable.
- Minimum of four (4) years of related experience and/or training. Your experience includes using the Siemens Desigo Building Management system or similar systems.
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary San Diego, California, is 59,800.00 - 111,000.00 USD. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
