Schedule Details/Additional Information:
1st shift/Remote and in-person required. Based in NC.
Pay Range
$59.00 - $88.50
Major Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses and manages the resolution of complex controls systems malfunctions or issues to improve efficiency and resiliency of healthcare facilities.
- Performs periodic design reviews and provide comments back to design team for review/implementation.
- Supports Facilities Operations staff across a broad, multi-state area to serve as a subject matter expert in operations towards energy efficiency and effective control operations.
- Review design specifications for alignment with OPR and facility design standards.
- Review equipment submittals for alignment with OPR and design.
- Oversees owner training and ensure training is completed as specified. Oversees warranty phase Cx testing. Coordinates, implements, maintains, and monitors monitoring-based commissioning (MBCx) systems and opportunities which arise from such systems.
- Direct performance of commissioning on projects where warranted and prioritized by Facilities Management.
- Supports Energy and Sustainability teams to ensure organizational goals are being met through effective use of Facilities systems and technology.
- Performs system audits to ensure proper operation of the systems for use by Facilities Management in accordance with system standards and good practice.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent knowledge.
Certification / Registration / License
Experience
- 7 years of experience in MEP design, building automation systems, commissioning, or facilities operations.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems and design.
- Advanced knowledge of building automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret MEP design drawings including piping diagrams and electrical single line drawings.
- Ability to read and interpret building automation system control drawings and sequences.
- Knowledge of healthcare building construction and applicable codes and regulatory agencies.
- Self-driven and able to work independently.
- Ability to set personal and project schedules as well as maintain them.
- Ability to balance multiple tasks/projects.
- Knowledge of building design and construction process and sequences.
- Capable of working collaboratively across various departments and levels both with the company and external to the company.
- Excellent communication, organization, prioritization and time management skills
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- This position requires travel, therefore, will be exposed to weather and road conditions.
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
- Exposed to a healthcare environment and mechanical spaces and equipment serving healthcare environments
Preferred Job Requirements
Preferred Certification / Registration / License
- Certification as installer or programmer from the manufacturer in two or more of the following applications: Desigo, Metasys, Niagara Framework, Tracer.
- Certified Commissioning Agent by a nationally recognized body such as Authority (CxA) issued by AABC Commissioning Group (ACG)
Preferred Experience
- 10 or more years of experience in building automation systems, HVAC equipment, or facilities operations.
- Experience with multiple building automation platforms, in particular, Desigo, Ecostruxure, Insight, iVue, Metasys, and Tracer.
Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Advanced knowledge of industry guidelines and recommendations for sequences of operation in building HVAC systems, including air distribution, chilled water, heating water, and steam systems.
- Knowledge and ability to apply ASHRAE Guideline 36.
- Advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and design.
