We are looking for a Facilities Supervisor/Manager to expand our team at Woodward, Prestwick. This position reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for ensuring that the Woodward Prestwick site can perform safe, sustainable and efficient repair and overhaul operations.  

The duties include planning and coordinating the use of contractors and suppliers in the delivery of planned preventive maintenance, ensuring that the site and its buildings comply with the relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.  As well as performing facility and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections and ensure risk assessments for all systems and equipment (e.g., fire alarms, heating systems, Legionella, Asbestos Management) are completed to identify and address any issues promptly.

  • Conduct continuous inspections and audits of all buildings, furniture, and grounds to ensure they are maintained in a tidy, presentable, and safe condition. Ensure that any issues are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently.  

  • Coordinating and planning essential business services such as maintenance, reception, archiving, mailing, cleaning, waste disposal and security.

  • Manage day-to-day security arrangements, including keyholding, access control, and CCTV systems, ensuring all staff are aware of security procedures.  

  • Prepare procurement documents for contractors, manage projects, and supervise contractors' work.  

  • Monitoring contractors and ensuring that the work assigned to workers and contractors is completed to a high standard, on time, and within budget. Using performance management tools to monitor performance and recommend agreeable service levels and ways to improve.

  • Act as the first point of contact for any building-related enquiries. Implement and maintain Permits to Work.

  • Perform minor maintenance and repair activities. Use Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe systems of work at all times.

  • Planning and reorganising the current building's layout to effectively utilise the available space

  • Monitor and record environmental impacts of the site, including waste, energy usage and other aspects of ensuring adherence to environmental targets. Collaborate with EHS to improve environmental, health and safety issues.

  • Respond quickly and efficiently to facility-related emergencies. 

Key Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.

  • Good understanding of statutory compliance with environmental, health and safety standards in particular reporting requirements.  

  • Experience managing and supervising contractors.

  • Proactive, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with a range of IT packages. 

  • Ability to manage a complex, varied workload.

  • Good understanding of statutory compliance with environmental and safety standards, in particular, environmental reporting requirements.

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in engineering or manufacturing is preferable.

We offer a competitive salary determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. 

  • Estimated annual base pay: Between £43,000 - £56,000

  • Woodward Operations Incentive bonus scheme – target of 7.5% paid quarterly, discretionary.

  • Vacation: We offer new members 29 days holiday plus 4 public holidays.
