Position Summary:
The Assistant Facilities Manager supports the Facilities Manager in overseeing the operations, maintenance, and safety of a corporate office environment. This role requires a proactive person who can organize and lead projects, coordinate vendor services, and ensure a professional, efficient, and safe workplace for employees and visitors. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication, project management and problem-solving skills, proficiency in finance, and has previous experience working in an office environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise custodial, maintenance, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork
Coordinate office space planning, workstation setups, and employee moves in collaboration with HR and IT
Oversee vendor relationships and service contracts for cleaning, landscaping, security, and maintenance
Ensure compliance with corporate policies, safety regulations, and environmental standards
Respond promptly to facility-related service requests and emergencies
Support budget planning and cost control for facility operations and capital projects
Own and be accountable for small and medium sized projects
Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance schedules, and service logs.
Participate in business continuity and emergency preparedness planning
Promote a clean, safe, and welcoming office environment aligned with company values
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in facilities operations, preferably in a corporate office setting
Proven experience in team leadership or supervisory roles
Strong understanding of building systems and office infrastructure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with project planning and management tools
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing a reservable desking environment
Proficiency in office moves and restacks, and move management
Facilities Management Professional (FMP) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM)
College Degree preferred
First Aid/CPR Certification
