VicRoads is progressing too. In August 2022, we started on a new chapter when the Victorian State Government partnered with Aware Super, Australian Retirement Trust, and Macquarie Asset Management to operate registration and licensing services on its behalf.

We work collaboratively with the Victorian State Government to ensure we fulfill regulatory requirements, deliver State projects and safeguard customer data. The Victorian State Government retains sole responsibility for road access, infrastructure and safety.

About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to coordinate and deliver facilities management services across our property portfolio, ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained work environment. This role is critical to the smooth operation of our sites and involves working closely with a third-party FM service provider to manage maintenance, repairs, and essential services.

As the primary point of contact for facilities issues, you will monitor and respond to requests, identify risks, and implement solutions that add value to the organisation. You’ll oversee planned and reactive maintenance programs, manage budgets, review supplier performance, and contribute to cost-saving and sustainability initiatives. Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers will be key to delivering high-quality outcomes.

About you

You are an experienced facilities professional who thrives in managing complex operations and delivering high-quality services. With strong organisational skills and a strategic mindset, you can balance day-to-day tasks with long-term planning.

You excel at building relationships, managing vendors, and ensuring compliance while driving continuous improvement. Your ability to prioritise competing demands and adapt to changing circumstances ensures smooth operations across the portfolio.

You bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in property, asset management, or operations (desirable).
  • Experience managing facilities and business services in office or customer-facing environments.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills with the ability to review and question quotes effectively.
  • Vendor management experience across fleet, uniforms, consumables, and travel services.
  • Financial acumen in processing invoices and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills to influence and collaborate effectively.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with proactive initiative and accountability.
