ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform routine inspections of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and emergency systems, ensuring proper functionality and identifying any potential issues for repair.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, such as HVAC units, plumbing, and electrical systems, to minimize downtime and prevent costly breakdowns.
- Maintain and oversee outdoor spaces, including parking lots, walkways, and landscaping, ensuring proper upkeep and safety for the facility.
- Collaborate with Safety Manager to monitor cold storage units, ensuring proper temperature regulation and compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate with external contractors for services such as groundskeeping, janitorial services, equipment repair, or other facility maintenance, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Provide guidance and general instruction to other facilities technicians and/or temporary labor, guiding them in daily tasks to ensure they adhere to safety standards and perform work correctly and efficiently.
- Assist in the oversight of building and facility projects, including renovations, repairs, and minor construction, ensuring that work is completed safely and in a timely manner.
- Help with the creation and review of facility layout plans or CAD drawings for improvement projects, collaborating with contractors and management on project requirements.
- Regularly communicate with company leaders and key stakeholders to provide updates on ongoing or upcoming facilities issues, scheduled maintenance or tests, and any potential concerns that could impact business operations.
- Maintain positive working relationships with external vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring quality work is delivered and issues are addressed promptly.
- Be available on-call during evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to urgent facilities-related issues, such as system failures or emergency repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and building regulations, reporting any unsafe conditions or maintenance concerns to appropriate management.
- Track maintenance and repair requests, logging work completed and notifying the appropriate departments of ongoing issues or improvements.
- Manage inventory of necessary tools, supplies, and materials required for building maintenance, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained without excess.
- Prepare routine reports on building maintenance and operational issues for review by management.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including plumbing leaks, power outages, and HVAC malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED required, additional technical certifications preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role, with hands-on experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building repairs.
- Experience coordinating and working with external contractors for maintenance, repairs, and facility projects.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and CAD drawings; knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with leadership, contractors, and team members.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while ensuring timely completion of maintenance needs.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
