Key Responsibilities:

Safety First:

  • Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
  • Maintain the safety of all systems and processes in the Isando and implement world class safety practices as guided by the Health and Safety department and senior management

Compliance:

  • Ensure that the Isando complies to the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85: 1993)
  • Maintain the integrity of the ISO 9001: 2008 quality assurance system

Project Planning and Development:

  • Plan, coordinate and review engineering requirements and responsibilities between different disciplines on the project and assignments. Develop project proposal, plans, objectives, and detailed project schedules, including tasks, costs, and lead times.
  • Prepare project designs, cost estimates, economic justifications, schedules, and procurement documentations. Provide input into and adhere to engineering specifications, standards, and procedures. Ensure any project implementations, construction, and modifications comply with the requirements of all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Projects) and CAD software.

Execution and Coordination:

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams according to project requirements. Oversee the project execution to meet targets and align with WEIR goals.

Monitoring and Control:

  • Track project progress while addressing project roadblocks. Manage project cost & budget, and report project financial status. Maintain accurate project documentation, records and reports, such as asset registers, MOC, schedules, business case, etc.

Risk and Compliance Management:

  • Participate in risk assessment and design review sessions to address risks to personnel, assets, the public, and the environment.

Communication and Reporting:

  • Liaise with involved parties (contractors, suppliers, and the business) to interpret needs and requirements. Communicate project status, progress, and issues to stakeholders

Leadership

  • Ensure effective leadership of  CI Engineers Project
  • Adherence to all statutory SHE and housekeeping requirements
  • Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • B.Sc./Honors/B Tech/B Eng: Industrial engineering/Mechanical; project Management qualification.
  • Six sigma green belt, PMI and MBA/MBL is advantageous
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Project Management role and Change Management improvement programmes.
  • Strong leadership and management skills to oversee and coordinate the work of a team of project engineers and other cross-functional professionals.
