Available Shift: 2nd - Monday-Thursday - 2:45 pm to 1:00 am
Compensation: $27.73 per hour plus $2.00 per hour shift differential
A Brief Summary of This Position
The Fabrication Lead will be a highly motivated and talented incumbent responsible for verifying the program and set up for the angle cell to meet blueprint specifications. The incumbent will aggressively work as part of the production team to meet department goals and customer requirements.

Job Training Skill Development
The incumbent must be able to gain complete knowledge of all set ups on specified machines. Must be able to read and interpret production blueprints and process sheets. The incumbent must know how to read and use a tape measure, calculator, tri-square and all types of specialty gages. The incumbent is responsible for maintaining the shop and work conditions in a clean and safe condition. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all damaged machine parts, gauging and fixtures. This position requires the employee to have a good mechanical aptitude and prior operating experience with angle cell equipment.
Decision Making
This job requires the employee to make decisions that affect the quality of the products being manufactured. The employee will make decisions such as when to change tooling and if a part meets blueprints specifications. These are decisions that affect the employee’s own work quality and output. The employee must understand the processes and functions of the equipment to determine when abnormal conditions exist that require stopping the equipment or process. Must possess the ability to understand and use all gauging made available for the purpose of checking machined parts and make adjustment decisions to the machine when necessary. Able to use initiative in solving major problems within everyday activities. Must have a good understand of their own abilities and knowledge to determine when to seek help making decisions.
Physical Effort
Physical effort is moderate to heavy. A high degree of physical effort is used due to continuous heavy lifting. Employee is lifting 40 to 45 lb. repeatedly throughout the shift to load machines and conveyors. Although some items weigh more, a maximum lift of 50 lb. is all that is required. Climbing standing, bending, pivoting and walking is required most of the time.
Working Conditions
This job is performed in an indoor shop environment. The temperature range can be from 100 degrees in the summer to about 50 degrees in the winter. Most operations may expose employee to some type of disagreeable working conditions (wind, cold, heat, dust, dirt, fumes, noise, vibration, water, or oil). Working conditions may vary with specific work assignments. Some outside work may be required but this is not common. This is a noisy environment with sound levels above 80 decibels at times. Safety glasses and metatarsal safety shoes are required at all times in the plant. Face shield is required in addition to safety glasses when grinding. The employee operates machines that use liquid coolant and may also be exposed to cast iron dust. The employees must be able to spend the entire work shift on their feet within this shop environment.
