POSITION SUMMARY:

Job Description

This position provides coverage on various machines when the primary operator is away from their station. This position will also assist with the setup and breakdown of the production line and daily equipment checks to ensure they are working correctly while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson's policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for working on rework and cleaning when needed.  Machine Operator operates machinery for continuous and efficient production of high-quality flour tortillas.

REQUIREMENT:

  • Applicant must have 3 months of experience with any employer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • COMPLETED LOCKOUT/TAGOUT TRAINING REQUIRED.

  • Prepares for start-up or shut down of equipment.

  • Stops machine to make required adjustments following lockout-tagout policy.

  • Maintains good manufacturing practices and personal hygiene.

  • Keeps department clean and neat.

  • Notifies Supervisor and QC of contamination.

  • Must be able to perform the Packout Operators Training Checklist (PR26.1) job tasks by the end of the 10-working day trial period.

  • Equipment includes:

  • Automated Bagger

  • Loading Bags

  • Calibrating machines through basic equipment adjustments

  • Counter Stacker

  • Program Count

  • Parts Change (Inner & Outer Trays)

  • Calibrating machines through basic equipment adjustments

  • Product Conveyors

  • Calibrating machines through basic equipment adjustments

  • Metal Detector Checks

  • Other Duties/Quality Checks/Plant View

  • Bag Seals

  • Package Counts

  • Packaging Lot Numbers

  • Ensure product specifications are met in accordance with customers' written specifications.

  • Must adhere to all safety policies and safely operate equipment.

  • Must have the ability to enter data into the Plant View system.

  • Responsible for monitoring and reporting any wear and tear on equipment.

  • Responsible for controlling the machine speed by anticipating and responding to changes in the speed of product flow.

  • Responsible for assisting the Lead in the stocking line and monitoring the box machine (box machine where applicable).

  • Responsible for ensuring the product is sealed properly, and all seals are tight.

  • Responsible for ensuring the printer is working correctly, and the correct date is being applied.

  • Must be able to perform product changeovers as needed.

  • Abide by all company policies/procedures, written or verbal.

  • Work as a team member toward task accomplishments.

  • Perform any other tasks assigned.
