What should the Senior Associate in External Audit expect?  

As a Senior Associate, you will deliver high-quality external audits, support regulatory compliance, and strengthen financial reporting across various industries. You will use advanced audit tools, manage client relationships, ensure audit quality from planning to completion, and support your team through clear communication and coaching. 

Responsibilities:

If you are successful, you will undertake engagements locally and globally which could include a combination of but not limited to: 

  • Completing a variety of areas of audit work which includes the identification of issues, analysis of data, articulation of findings and the ability to draw informed conclusions. 

  • Proactively assisting in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above. 

  •  Coaching and leading team members. 

  • Demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems. 

  • Establishing effective working relationships directly with clients, along with being able to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality and diverse relationships. 

  • Analysing client data, identify risk areas and design audit procedures using professional scepticism. 

  • Being actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients 

  • Building connections across teams and specialist areas within PwC, managing a variety of views and consulting where appropriate. 

  • Uphold PwC’s professional standards, including independence, ethics and quality guidelines. 

  • Stay updated with local and global accounting, auditing and regulatory developments. 

  • Contribute to digital audit initiatives, including data analytics and automation tools. 

Experience and Qualifications 

  • University graduate working towards completing a professional qualification (ACCA/ACA) 

  • A minimum of 3 years of external audit experience in a professional services firm. 

  • Experience of external audit planning, risk and control identification and performing, and external audit testing 

  • Experience identifying and effectively reporting any issues and recommendations for improvement to clients 

  • Knowledge of auditing standards, financial reporting frameworks, and regulatory requirements, with a commitment to ongoing learning   

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
