About this role
The Exports Market Service Owner is required to be fully cross-functional, giving the flexibility to focus on the right customers, products, and processes at the right time, with end-to-end responsibility for Beer OTC processes. The successful candidate will manage customer needs from order entry to delivery and manage all queries' customer related.
The role involves managing multiple stakeholders and building great relationships with customers across global markets, production sites, and third-party freight providers. Operating with integrity and a strong engagement ethos aligned to Diageo’s Values and Capabilities, they will demonstrate strong influencing skills, build trust, and work collaboratively while remaining capable of operating independently. With a rational and logical approach to problem solving, they will seek opportunities to challenge current ways of working, and strive for simpler, faster and better solutions, and sharing with colleagues.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the International Customer Service Centre Team Leader, the Exports Market Service Owner performs well in a structured environment. Their responsibilities include:
Delivery of the order to cash process in line with CARM principles.
Is the first point of contact for all customer issues
Representing the Customer within Diageo, specifically
Product change projects
QIR process
Order prioritization during supply constraints
Together with team members owning all customer service issues that may arise and ensuring regular feedback to the customer.
Knowledge of Export Customs processes and systems
KPI customer service reporting
Liaise with shipping lines to ensure OTIF delivery to customers
Qualifications and experience required
Educated to Leaving Certificate level or equivalent; a third-level qualification is advantageous
Demonstrated experience in a customer-focused logistics, export, or shipping environment
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions and geographies
Ability to navigate complexity, ensuring accuracy and compliance in a fast-paced environment
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail
Strong understanding of export operations, including freight documentation and industry terminology
Experience building effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and third-party partners
Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)
Working knowledge of Customs & Excise requirements, market-specific regulations, and international shipping documentation
Familiarity with international trade practices and compliance requirements
