Job Description
As Export Product Manager you will serve as the voice of Chevrolet/GMC as you work closely with partners across functions and around the globe to deliver game-changing products from concept to production. You will be the voice of the customer, driving innovative customer-focused features and solutions into the vehicle plan. Using a collaborative approach, you will bridge the gap between marketing divisions, and global product development.
In performing this role, this individual will support the brand’s objectives of reaching brand health metrics, volume, and revenue goals while collaborating with the program team in achieving profitability targets. You will be part of an empowered, high-performing, energetic, and results-oriented team. Utilizing strong analytical skills as well as the ability to distill customer feedback into meaningful insights, you will be responsible for target customer development, trim level strategy, packaging, and vehicle option forecasting.
Job Responsibilities
• Lead export product execution in various product, marketing, design, and engineering forums
• Support model year launches by ensuring product correct information in all marketing materials, vehicle order guides, catalogs, websites, product training, etc.
• Support vehicle prep, vehicle buyoffs, and plant production reviews where appropriate to provide product expertise in support of launches
• Coordinate model/content/packaging modifications resulting from component constraints, urgent engineering changes, or revolutionary market dynamics.
• Develop product content, packaging and pricing plans for export markets and assess the strength of vehicle vs key competitors
• Lead strategic planning on future products and provide brand/voice of customer input throughout Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)
• Define customer focused features where critical for export markets; support complexity targets and exceptions where appropriate
• Execute consistent brand standards including brand DNA, performance, trim levels, content, and nomenclature/badging in alignment with GM North America for all export countries of sale
• Initiate Red Zone change approval requests as needed for program change requests.
• Author and execute change requests and maintain product program content sheets to reflect marketing intent.
• Align packaging sheets and Vehicle Content and Price System market offers to product program content sheets.
• Actively participate in Brand Product Marketing forums, Program Execution Teams (PET), Regional Operations Reviews, Market Pricing Reviews (MPR), Marketing Core team meetings, complexity management, and launch team meetings.
Required Qualifications/Skills
• Bachelor's Degree required, Master's degree in Business Administration preferred
• 5+ years Product Management, Program Management or related experience
• Understanding of program segment and role of brand within global product portfolio.
• Strong interest in product, market dynamics, competitive analysis, automotive technology, and consumer behavior.
• Ability to balance customer, brand, competitor, market trends, government regulations, organizational resources/capability, and business case inputs to make informed recommendations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles – written and orally.
• Ability to concisely frame issues, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to leadership.
• Ability to represent team as an informed, confident, and active participant in cross-brand and cross-functional forums.
• Ability to act as spokesperson in media events, dealer events, training videos, & internal product presentations.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments on time and with attention to detail.
